- Bachelorโs degree of a recognized University

Selection Process for SCI Careers:

- The candidates who qualify in the Objective Type Written Test and Objective Type Computer Knowledge Test will only be called for Typing Speed Test on Computer and Descriptive Test and those who qualify the said tests will be required to appear for an Interview before an Interview Board and qualify the Interview by securing minimum qualifying marks.
- Number of candidates to be called for Interview shall not exceed the ratio of 1:3 i.e. 3 candidates against 1 vacancy subject to availability of candidates who would be qualified on the basis of above Tests.
- After qualifying in prescribed tests and Interview, the selected candidates will be empanelled in the order of merit for appointment as Junior Court Assistant.

Educational Qualifications:
Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate:
- The candidate must be a Law Graduate (before taking up the assignment as a Law Clerk) having a Bachelorโs Degree in Law (including an Integrated Degree Course in Law) from any School/College/University/Institution established by law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.
- The candidate studying in the fifth year of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course or the third year of the Three-Year Law Course after graduation in any stream will also be eligible to apply, subject to furnishing proof of acquiring Law qualification before taking up the assignment as Law Clerkcum-Research Associate.
- The candidate must have research and analytical skills, writing abilities, and knowledge of computers, including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as e-SCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc.
Nature of Engagement: The Law Clerks will be engaged on a purely short-term contractual assignment commencing from the re-opening of the Court after the summer vacation and concluding by the end of the following yearโs summer vacation.
Age Limit (As on 07 February 2025):ย The candidate must not be below the age of 20 years and above 32 years
Salary Details:ย
- A Law Clerk will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 80,000/- per month for the assignment term and there will be no other allowances/perquisites.
- If a Law Clerk is given an extension after twelve months of the initial assignment, then a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 90,000/- per month will be paid for the extended assignment term and there will be no other allowances/perquisites.

Selection Process for SCI Careers:
- The selection process shall be conducted in three phases:
- Part Iโ Multiple Choice Based Questions, testing the candidatesโ ability to understand and apply the law, and comprehension skills
- Part IIโ Subjective Written Examination, covering writing and analytical skills
- Part IIIโ Interview.
- Part I shall be conducted by OMR sheets or in online/hybrid mode at the test centres, as may be specified by the Chief Justice from time to time.
- Part II shall also be conducted in physical mode/pen-paper mode/online/hybrid mode
- Part I of the selection process shall consist of 100 Multiple Choice questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each to be done in 2 ยฝ hours
- Part II shall be of 31/2 hours (including 30 minutes of reading time) and 300 marks
Results:
- Candidates who do not obtain the minimum qualifying marks of 40% or such cut-off as may be specified in Part I will automatically be rejected and the Examination Board will not be required to assess their answer sheets for Part II
- In order to qualify in Part II, a candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% marks or such cut-off as may be specified.
- After the assessment of the answers sheet of Part II, the Registry shall prepare the results of the Written Examination based on the combined marks secured in both Part I and Part II
- A list of candidates according to the marks scored in Part I and Part II who are to be considered for the interview, along with cut-off score, shall be published on the website of the Supreme Court
Date of Examination:
- Written Examination in connection with engagement as Law Clerk-cumResearch Associate to be held on 09.03.2025.
- Part I- Examination will be conducted in online mode and Question paper for Part-II- Examination will be visible on Computer Screen and candidates(s) have to write answers in pen-paper mode.
