Educational Qualification :
Lower Division Assistant/Assistant Inspector of Excise:
- Essential: HSSLC or Equivalent Examinations from any recognised Board/ University in India.
Age Limit ( As on 01 January 2024):
- Lower Division Assistant/Assistant Inspector of Excise: 18 – 32 Years
Age Relaxation :
- The upper age limit is relaxable by five years for SC/ST.
- No age bar exists for regular government employees who enter government service within the prescribed age limit.
Meghalaya PSC Vacancy: 79 Posts
- Lower Division Assistant: 60 Posts
- Assistant Inspector of Excise: 19 Posts

Selection Process for Meghalaya PSC Recruitment 2024:
Screening Test consisting of the following subjects in MCQ pattern:
- For the post of Lower Division Assistant in Heads of Department.
- General English – 150 marks
- General Awareness & Aptitude ~~ 150 marks
- Total – 300 marks
- For the post of Assistant Inspector of Excise under the Commissioner of Excise.
- General English – 100 marks
- General Knowledge & Aptitude – 100 marks
- Arithmetic (Class X- Level) – 100 marks
- Total – 300 marks
Personal Interview:
- Only those candidates who are declared to have passed the Screening Test/ Main Written Examination shall be eligible to the Personal Interview.
- Ratio to be called for Personal Interview will be as decided by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission from time to time.
Application Fees:
- Lower Division Assistant: Rs.350/-
- Assistant Inspector of Excise: Rs.320/-
- Half the rate for SC/ST who are permanent residents of the State of Meghalaya.
- For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs), Application Fee is exempted subject to furnishing of the Disability Certificate to the Commission.
