Detailed Eligibility:

Chargeman(Ammunition Workshop):

  • Bachelor of Science degree with Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics from a recognized University or Institution. OR
  • A Diploma in Engineering in the appropriate discipline from a recognized University or Board
  • Note: Diploma in Engineering in the Fields of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or
    Telecommunication or allied fields under these disciplines as recognized by AICTE.

Chargeman (ICE Fitter):

  • Bachelor of Science degree with Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics from a recognized University or Institution. OR
  • A Diploma in Engineering in the appropriate discipline from a recognized University or Board.

Library and Information Assistant:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a recognised University or Institute.
  • Two years’ professional experience in a Library under the Central or State Government or Autonomous or Statutory Organisation or Public Sector Undertaking or University or Recognised Research or Educational Institution.
  • Desirable: Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised University or Institute.


  • Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
  • The qualifications regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority, for reasons to be recorded in writing. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes if, at any stage of selection, the Competent Authority is of the opinion that the sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

Join Indian Navy Recruitment 2017 Selection process:

The selection process is based on written test. The question papers of written test (objective type Multiple choice questions) will be bilingual (English/Hindi). The examination will be held during Oct/Nov 17.

Written Test Syllabus :

  • Chargeman (Ammunition Workshop) & Chargeman (ICE Fitter) – Written Examination will consist of 100 Objective type questions based on Syllabus for Degree in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Maths) or Diploma in Engineering/ Basic Management/Supervisory Skills/General Knowledge/ General English (At Matric Level).
  • Library Information Assistant – Written Examination will consist of 100 objective type questions based on the following: “Library Management, Library Classification Theory, Library Cataloguing Theory, Information Services and Technology, Computer and Communication Skills”

Join Indian Navy Recruitment 2017 Selection process:

The selection process is based on Written Test, Physical Fitness Test(PFT), Medical Examinations.

Written Test:

  • The question paper will be objective type and will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
  • Duration of examination will be one hour.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. Candidates are to bring their sports shoes and shorts for PFT.

Join Indian Navy Recruitment Selection Process:

  • IHQ of MoD reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off/based on a percentage of marks obtained in BE/B. Tech without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam during Dec 17 to Mar 18. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).
  • The total duration of SSB interviews is five days consisting of two Stages – Stage I (Day one) and Stage II (Four days). Stage I test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception, and Discussion test will be conducted on the first day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).
  • Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per All India Merit of SSB marks depending on the number of vacancies.
  • Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstance.
  • Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the call up officer of the SSB on receipt of call up letter. Candidates are to download the call up letter on receiving intimation from IHQMoD (Navy) at SMS/e-mail(provided by candidate in their application).
  • No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of test during SSB interviews.
  • Return AC 3 tier/AC Chair Car rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for that type of commission on production of railway tickets. Candidates will carry photocopy of the first page of pass book or cheque leaf where the name, A/C No & IFSC details are mentioned, while appearing for SSB.
