Tradesman Mate:
- 10th standard pass from a recognized Board/ Institutions and Certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the relevant trade.
- Note: 52 in number ITI trades are eligible to apply for the above mentioned post.
Probation Period: The probation period for SSC (IT) Officers is two years. The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant and will terminate after two years and completion of initial training (whichever is later).
Age Limit(As on 25 September 2023): 18- 25 Years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST 05 Years.
- OBC 03 Years.
- PwBD UR-10 years, OBC-13(10+3) years, SC/ST–15(10+05) years
- Ex-serviceman Period of Military Service plus 03 years.
- Government Servants Relaxable up to 40 years in accordance with instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time in this regard and further relaxable for 05 years, as in the case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Selection Process:
- Screening of Applications: The candidates will be shortlisting as per merit up to the ratio of 1:25 to the number of vacancies based on the marks obtained in the minimum requisite educational qualification for this recruitment/ post i.e. Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board
- Scheme of Written Examination: All Shortlisted/ eligible candidates will have to appear in written examination consisting of objective type questions based on the Essential qualifications.
- The duration of the examination will be 02 (two) hours.
- The question paper will be bilingual in both English & Hindi (except for General English) covering aspects as below: –
- General Intelligence and Reasoning – 25 marks
- General English & Comprehension – 25 marks
- Numerical Aptitude/ Quantitative Ability – 25 marks
- General Awareness – 25 marks
- Total – 100 marks

Eligibility Criteria:
- The posts are to be filled up on deputation by the officers of the Central Government:
- Holding analogous posts on regular basis in Central Government; or
- With five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis inPay Level – 4, VII CPC (Rs 25500-81100) (erstwhile Rs 4000-6000) or equivalent in Central Government; and
- Three years Diploma in Civil or Mechanical or Electrical or Naval Architecture and Ship Construction Engineering from an Industrial Training Institute or its equivalent or two years diplomas or certificate in commercial art from recognise of institute with three years experience in draughtsmanship in an organisation of repute.
- Note: The Departmental Officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation.
- Similarlydeputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion
Period of Deputation: Period of deputation including period of deputation in another excadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organisation or Department of the Central Government shall ordinary not exceed three years.
