UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2026 – The Union Public Service Commission has announced the notification of the Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026. Written Examination will be conducted to recruit Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). There are 349 CAPF Job openings for these posts. Candidates with Any Degree are eligible to apply for UPSC CAPF Jobs Vacancy. Detailed Eligibility – CAPF Jobs:

Educational Qualification: 

Assistant Commandants (Group A):

  • A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age Limit (As on 01 August 2026): A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 2001 and not later than 1st August, 2006.



Age Relaxation:

  • The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable for up to five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
  • Up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.
  • Up to a maximum of five years for Civilian Central Government Servants under the existing instructions of the Central Government.
  • Ex-Servicemen will also be eligible for this relaxation.
  • However, the total relaxation claimed by Government Service will be limited to five years.

Selection Process of CAPF Jobs:

  • The selection process includes a Written Test/PET/Interview.

Written Examination:

  • Written Examination: The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will be held on 19th July, 2026 and will comprise two papers.
  • Paper-I will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and
  • Paper-II will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
  • Paper I:
    • General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks
    • The questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi.
  • Paper II:
    • General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension – 200 Marks.
    • In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/language skills will be English only.

Physical Standards Tests/Physical Efficiency Tests:

  • Candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards Tests/Physical Efficiency Tests.
  • Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards as specified in Appendix-V will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests as indicated below:

Interview/Personality Test:

  • Candidates who are declared qualified in the Physical Standards Tests (PST) /Physical Efficiency Tests (PET), will be called for an interview/Personality Test to be conducted by the Commission.
  • Candidates who are declared unqualified in the Physical Efficiency Test will not be called for Ithe nterview/Personality Tests. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks.

Final Selection/Merit:

  • The merit list will be drawn based on marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.

  • Rs. 200/-
  • SC/ST/Female candidates who are exempted from payment of fee
