TN PWD Recruitment 2026: The Public Works Department (PWD), Tamilnadu has announced notification for Graduate/Technician/Non-Engineering Graduate Apprenticeย in various disciplines. There are 760 openings for these posts. Candidates with the qualification ofย B.E/B.Tech/Diploma/BA/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA are eligible to apply for the job. Interested and eligible candidates can apply on or before 25 June 2026. The detailed eligibility and selection process are explained below.

Educational Qualification :
Graduate Apprentices:
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Regular โ Full time) granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline.
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Regular โ Full time) granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.
- Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.
Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
- A Diploma in Engineering or technology (Regular โ Full time) granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Regular โ Full time) granted by a University in relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.
Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices:
- A Degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Humanities such as BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA etc., (Regular โ Full time) granted by a Statutory University / Deemed University in relevant discipline. โ UGC approved
Note: Graduate/Diploma holders in Engineering and Non-Engineering Graduates (passed during 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025)
Duration of Training:ย One Year
Age Limit: Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.
Stipend :
- Graduate Apprentices: Rs 9,000/-
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs. 8,000/-
- Non โ Engineering Graduates: Rs. 9000/-

Selection Process of TN PWD Recruitment 2026:
- The selection process is based on the merit.
- Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) is interested with the task of preparation of shortlist from the online application data.
- Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines.
- Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through their registered Email id.
- Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at PWD, Chennai.
