Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was founded in 1989 in Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai, India. Educational Qualification:
Project Title: Patho-genomics and characterization of locally isolated canine
distemper virus
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- BS 4 years programme/B.Pharm/MBBS/B.VSc/Integrated BSMS/M.Sc/B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test
Desirable Qualification:
- Experience in basic microbiological techniques
- Cell culture and Virus propagation
- Viral passaging and standardization of MOI.
- Molecular diagnostic techniques
Job Description:
- To carry out cell culture work and molecular work designed by PI and CoPIs about the above-funded project.
- To collect the specimens from the suspected animals in and around
Chennai. - To keep and maintain the record of the results in presentable form (Soft as
well as hard copy). - To keep track of contingencies/consumables required for the work and
assist in the process of filing files for the procurement of equipment and consumables. - To assist the PI in preparing various reports related to the research work.
Duration: The post is temporary for about 3 years and co-terminus with the project.
Project Tenure: 03 years

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates

Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
