OSSC Recruitment 2023: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission has announced notification for the Vital Statistics Assistant/Junior Typist/DEO/Junior Stenographer/Others posts through the Combined Graduate Level Examination. There are 358 OSSC vacancies available for the posts. Candidates with the qualification of a B.Sc/BCA/Bachelorโ€™s degree/12th/8th are eligible to apply. Odisha Public Service Commission: The state agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level appointments. The functions of the Commission are separated into the following categories:

  • Advice on the framing of recruitment rules and amendments about the recruitment and conditions of service of Group B services/posts
  • Advice on punishment proposed by the disciplinary authority in finalising departmental proceedings under the Odisha Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules.

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification for OSSC vacancy:ย 

Vital Statistics Assistant: Candidates must have passed a B.Sc in Mathematics or Statistics from the recognized University or its equivalent examination with proficient knowledge in BCA in Computer Application as of the closing date of registration of the online application form for the post are eligible to apply.

Age Limit ( As on 01 January 2023 ): 21-38 Years



Age Relaxation:

  • The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for candidates belonging to SEBC, SC, ST & all Women candidates
  • 10 years for candidates belonging to the PwD category & the total period of service rendered in defence service in the case of Ex-servicemen.
  • PwD candidates in the ST & SC category shall be entitled to cumulative age relaxation of ten years over & above the normal relaxation specified for the category.

Salary: Level-4 of ORSP 2017.

Selection Process of OSSC Recruitment:

The selection process will be based on Examination/Test/Certification verification.

Stage โ€“ I: Preliminary Examination:

If the number of valid applications exceeds 9000(Nine thousand), a Preliminary Examination shall be conducted, which will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be held through OMR Mode or CBRE Mode.

Stage โ€“ II: Main Written Examination

Mathematics & Statistics: 200 Marks

Stage -III: Computer Skill Testย 

Computer Skill Test: 50 marks

Stage โ€“ IV: Certificate Verification:

  • Candidates numbering 2 (two) times of the vacancies shall be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on the marks secured
  • The candidates will be required to produce their Original Academic Certificates, Mark sheets, caste certificates, special category certificates, NOC in case of Govt. servants and other documents as intimated in the admission letter for verification, along with a set of self-attested photocopies of the same and OSSC copy of the online application form duly signed by the applicant.

Final Stage: Merit List: The Merit list of candidates found suitable in certificate verification shall be prepared in order of merit, category-wise equal to the vacancies advertised, based on their marks secured in the written examination and CBT.

Selection Process for OSSC vacancy:

  • The selection process will be based on Examination/Test/Certification verification.
    • Main Written Examination, CST & Stenography Test for the post of Junior Stenographer.

Stage โ€“ I: Preliminary Examination โ€“ 150 Marks

  • Candidates approximately 25 or 15 (Based on the post) times of the vacancies category-wise shall be shortlisted for the Main written Examination based on their marks secured in the Preliminary Examination.

Stage โ€“ II: Main Written Examination โ€“ 200 Marks

  • Paper-1: Language Paper
  • Candidates approximately 15 times of the vacancies category-wise shall be shortlisted for Stage โ€“ IIIย  based on their marks secured in the Main Written Examination

Stage -III: Skill Test based on the posts

  • Computer Skill Test โ€“ 50 marks

Stage โ€“ IV: Certificate Verification:
