Detailed Eligibility for West Railway Careers:

Educational Qualification:

Apprentices: The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum 50% marks (No Rounding off will be done), in aggregate, from a recognized Board for all trades except Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology & Radiology), candidates must have passed 12th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

Duration: One Year

Age Limit ( As on 05 August 2024): 15 to 24 years

Age Relaxation:

For OBC Candidates: 3 Years
For SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years

Selection Process for West Central Railway Careers:

Selection will be done based on the merit list prepared for all eligible candidates who apply against the notification.
The merit list will be prepared based on average marks obtained in the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) plus ITI/Trademarks.
Based on trade/division/unit opted by the candidate, a merit list will be prepared ie. Trade wise, division/unit wise & community-wise.
The concerned division/unit as per the merit list, will call the candidates for verification of documents as per the extant rules. Once the candidate is found suitable in all respects, the concerned division/unit will engage the candidate.
If two candidates have the same marks, the candidates with older age shall be given preference. In case the dates of birth are also the same, then the candidate who passed the matriculation examination earlier shall be considered first.
A final merit list will be prepared trade-wise, division/unit and community-wise, equal to the number of slots in the descending order of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate, as stated above.
In case any particular trade in any division/unit shortfall happened, in such circumstances, RRC reserved the right to allot, waiting list candidates of that particular trade of other division/unit as per the merit.
