South Eastern Railway: It is a part of Eastern Railways and one of the 18 railway zones in India. Its headquarters are in West Bengal, Kolkata, India and Garden Reach. Detailed Eligibility for Railway Jobs 2024:
Educational Qualification:
Scouts & Guides Quota: The following qualifications would apply to recruit Scouts & Guides to posts in Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- and Grade pay Rs. 1800/
- Grade Pay: 1900/-
- 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. (50% marks in the aggregate will be required for NTPC categories.
- 50% marks are not required for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen candidates, and candidates possess higher qualifications like Graduation/Post Graduation) [or]
- A pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board and having ITI certificate for the posts of Artisans in Technical Categories.
- Grade Pay: 1800/-
- 10th pass from a recognised Board with the National Apprenticeship certificate granted by NCVT or 10th pass from a recognised Board with ITI for appointment in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, S&T and Catering departments.
- 10th pass, ITI, or equivalent from a recognised Board for appointment in other departments.

Age Relaxation of Railway Job Vacancy:
- Serving Railway employees, including casual labourers, who have put in three years of continuous service and substitutes who have put in three years of continuous service or three years in broken spells in the Railways: Maximum Age for UR is 40 years, OBC is 43 years & SC/ST is 45 years.
- Widows/Divorced women and women judicially separated but not remarried: Maximum age for UR is 35 years, OBC is 38 years, and SC/ST is 40 years.
- Persons with Disabilities(PwBD): Age relaxation of 10 years in respective communities subject to production of Disability Certificates in a proper format.
- The upper age limit is relaxable for ex-servicemen up to the extent of service rendered in the Defence Forces plus 3 years, provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months of attested service.
- Ex-servicemen who have already joined the Govt. After availing of the age relaxation, service in a civilian capacity is not eligible for such a benefit.
- Persons who had ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989: Relaxation upto 05 years

Selection Process for South Eastern Railway Careers:
- The selection process will be based on a written examination.
- To the extent of only five times the vacancies in order of merit, candidates who have scored a minimum of 40% marks in the Written Test shall be called for verification of certificates.
- Overall merit will be assessed based on written tests & marks on certificates of Scouts & Guides activities.
- Eligible applicants will be issued with call letters to their correspondence address for the Written Test.

Selection Process for South Eastern Railway Careers:
- Selection will be based on a Computer Test, Aptitude Test, Document Verification, & Medical Examination.
Computer Based Test (CBT):
- There will be separate Computer Based Test(CBT) examinations for each post for which the candidates have submitted their online application.
- Short-listed candidates will be called for verification of their original documents.
- CBT will be conducted in single/two stages in the categories wherever applicable.
- The Computer Based Test(CBT) questions will be of Multiple Choice Objective Type.
- The question paper will be set in English and Hindi only; the questions will likely include subjects about General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence, & Reasoning.
- The Questionnaire will be 90 minutes long and consist of 100 objective questions, each carrying one mark.
- There will be negative markings in the CBT examination, and marks will be deducted for each wrong answer @1/3 of the marks allotted for each question.
- Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in those categories: UR-40%, OBC(Noncreamy layer)-30%, SC-30% & ST-25%.
- RRC/GRC will conduct the Computer Based Test(CBT) examination, and the date of examinations will be notified by RRC/GRC in due course through SMS on registered mobile numbers & E-Mail addresses registered in the applications and on the website of RRC/GRC.
ALP: Single stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an aptitude test, documents verification, & Medical examination.
Trains Manager: Single stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a documents verification & Medical examination.
Document Verification/Medical Examination:
- Document Verification and Medical examination will be done only for those shortlisted candidates who qualified in the CBT examination followed by the Aptitude Test for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot and only in the CBT examination for the post of Train Manager/Goods Guard.
- During Document Verification, the candidates must bring all necessary original documents viz. Certificates of educational qualification, Caste, DOB, Employee certificate, relieving letter.
- After being fit in the prescribed Medical Examination, the candidates will be considered for empanelment due to fulfilment of other relevant criteria.
