Detailed Eligibility for Railway Jobs 2026:
Educational Qualification for Sports Quota Posts:
Essential Qualification:
For Level-4/5 Posts (Group C):
- A University Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.
For Level-2/3 Posts (Group C):
- Passed 12th or its equivalent examination. Educational qualification must be from a Govt. recognized Board/Council.
Note: For appointment against Sports quota in Technician-III, the minimum educational qualification is 10th pass. However, unless they pass or have an ITI qualification in the relevant trade, the training term for such sports quota appointees would be three years; otherwise, it will be six months.
For Level-1 Posts (Group D):
- 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Sports Norms:
For Level-4/5:
- Represented the country in Olympic Games (Senior Category) OR
- At least 3rd Position in any of the Championships/event in the World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior Category) / World Championships (Junior/ Senior Category)/ Asian Games (Senior Category)/ Commonwealth Games (Senior Category), Youth Olympics, Davis Cup (Tennis), Champions Trophy (Hockey), Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton).
For Level-2/3:
- Represented the Country in any of the Championships/events in the World Cup (Junior/ Senior Category)/ World Championships (Junior/ Senior Category)/ Asian Games (Senior Category)/ Commonwealth Games (Senior Category) OR
- At least 3rd position, in any of Championships / Events in the Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior Category)/ Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior /Senior Category) / South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior Category)/ USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior Category) OR
- At least 3rd position in Senior/ Youth/ Junior National Championships. OR
- At least 3rd Position in National Games Organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR
- At least 3rd Position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR
- 1st Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category)
For Level-1:
- Represented the Country in any of the Championships/events in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior Category)/Asian Championship/ Asia Cup (Junior/Senior Category)/South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior Category)/ USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior Category)/ World University Games. OR
- At least 3rd Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category). OR
- Represented a State equivalent Unit, excepted in Marathon and Cross Country with at least 8th position in Senior National Championship.

- Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years (Date of Birth not earlier than 02.01.2001 and not later than 01.01.2008)

Railway Job Vacancy Salary Details:

Selection Process for South Eastern Railway Careers:
- Selection will be based upon performance in sports Trials followed by Certificate (Sports & Educational) Verification by a duly constituted Recruitment Committee of this railway.
- The venue & date for Trials and Certificate Verification will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course.
- The Recruitment process is based purely on the merit of the candidates as per vacancies, in a particular discipline, notified
Distribution of Marks:
- Maximum marks which can be awarded by the Trial Committee for performance during Trial and Recruitment Committee during Certificate Verification Stage, shall be as follows:
- Recognized sports achievement as per norms – 50 marks
- Games skill, physical fitness and coach’s observation during Trial – 40 (Minimum marks for qualifying – 25)
- Educational Qualification – 10 Marks
- TOTAL – 100 Marks
Examination Fee:
- For candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Ex. Servicemen/Persons its Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities and Economic Backwards Classes: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two hundred fifty)
- For candidates belonging to UR/OBC: Rs. 500/- (Rupees five Hundred only) is to be deposited with a provision of refunding Rs. 400/- (Rupees four hundred) to those who actually appear in the written examination (UR-Male, OBC-Male, EWS Male Rs.500/-)
Mode of Payment: Examination fee should be paid online using Internet Banking or Debit Card or Credit Card (Service Charges for payment of fees will be borne by the candidates).
