RFRI: To have an adequate research backup for the development of the forestry sector in the northeastern region of the country, the Institute came into existence in April 1988, although its origin dates back to 1976 when a Regional Centre of Forest Research Institute, Dehra Dun, was established at Burnihat (Assam) to extend knowledge on forestry related issues through research, education and extension in general and to support forestry research in northeastern states Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. The Centre advanced steadily in infrastructure and established itself as a nucleus for research on forestry- and ecology-related issues in the region.

Title: Bamboo Resource Mapping in the State of Assam.
Education Qualification:
Field Assistant:
Essential: 12th passed (Science) from a recognised institution.
Desirable: Graduation(candidate having working knowledge of Bamboo will be preferred)
Duration: Initially for one year
Age Limit (As of 30 November 2023): 28 Years
Age Relaxation:
- 03 years for OBC candidates
- 05 years for SC/ST/Women candidates
