Detailed Eligibility for North Eastern Railway Gorakhpur Recruitment:
Educational Qualification:
Sports Quota Posts:
- For Level-1 Posts (GP – 1800): Matriculation (10th pass) OR ITI or its equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
- For Level-2/3 Posts (GP – 1900/2000): Pass in 10+2 or its equivalent OR Matriculation (10th Pass)/SSLC plus ITI in relevant trade (Recognised by NCVT/SCVT) OR Matriculation (10th Pass)/SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in relevant trade.
- For Level-4/5 Posts (GP – 2400/2800): A university Degree or its equivalent.
Minimum Sports Norms for Recruitment:
- For Level 4/5 (GP 2400/2800): At least 3rd Position in any of the Category-B Championships/events. championships or Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships.
- For Level 2/3 (GP 1900/2000): Represented the Country in any of the Category-B Championship/events OR At least 3rd Position in any of the Category-C Championship/events OR At least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR At least 3rd Position in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR At least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR 1 st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
- For Level 1 (GP 1800): Represented the Country in any of the Category-C Championships/events OR At least 3rd Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category) OR Represented a State or equivalent Unit, except in Marathon and Cross Country, with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships only.

Selection Process for North Eastern Railway Careers:
- The recruitment will be based on the performance in trial and evaluation of sports and educational achievements.
- All eligible candidates will be called for trial and after trial, only the FIT candidates (securing 25 or more, out of 40 marks for Game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observations during trial) shall be assessed for next stage of recruitment.
Distribution of Marks:
- For game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observation during trials – 40 Marks
- For assessment of recognised sports achievements as per Norms – 50 Marks
- Educational Qualification – 10 Marks
- TOTAL – 100 Marks
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- Minimum qualifying marks for recruitment in Level- 4/5, Level- 2/3 and Level-1 is as under:
- Level-4/5 (Grade Pay 2400/2800) – 70 marks
- Level-2/3 (Grade Pay 1900/2000) – 65 marks
- Level-1 (Grade Pay 1800) – 60 marks

- SC/ST/EWS/PwBD/Women/Minorities and Economically Backward Classes candidates: Rs. 250/- (Refund of Rs. 250/- will be made to those candidates who appear in the trial)
