Project Title: “Design and Development of a Promising Ternary y-Titanium Aluminide Alloy Containing Niobium for Aerospace Applications” funded by Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- M.E/M.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering’ Materials Science and Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/ Aerospace Engineering/Production Engineering or relevant area with minimum 65% marks
- M.Sc in Physics with minimum 70% marks
Project Objectives:
- To design a promising ternary y-Ti-Al-Nb alloy with tuned composition for aircraft turbines by means of MD simulations.
- To produce the most potent pre-designed alloy through melting and casting route using vacuum arc remelting (VAR) furnace and its
characterization.
Duration: Two years as JRF and may be promoted to SRF following performance evaluation of the JRF at the end of second year. Total fellowship period is three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier
Salary Details: Rs. 37,000/- per month for the first two years as JRF The fellowship will be enhanced to Rs 42.000- per month if the JRF is promoted to SRF
