IISER Kolkata Jobs – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Project Title: SERB funded project “Unravelling the Regulatory Mechanism of FNBP4-Mediated FMN1 Regulation and Actin Cytoskeleton Remodeling during Cell Migration”.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- Essential: A Master’s degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in relevant fields, such as Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or related disciplines including Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Medical Sciences or Zoology
- Desirable:
- Ability to design and conduct complex experiments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and dedication to research.
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and protein biochemistry is highly preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified for NET-JRF/ICMR/BET/GATE/NET-LS, or equivalent exams.
Tenure: The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on the candidate’s performance.
Age Limit (As on 20 October 2024): Below 28 years
Age Relaxation: Relaxation in Age and Academic qualification for SC/ST/OBC etc: As per Govt. of India rules.
Salary Details:
- 1st & 2nd year: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA@24%

Educational Qualification:
Laboratory Technician (Animal House):
- Essential: B.Sc/3 Years Diploma in Engineering & Technology
- Desirable:
- Minimum Three (3) Years Experience in Working with Animals & in Animal Facilities.
- Proficient Knowledge in Animal Handling Techniques and Execute Different Routes of Administration.
Job Responsibilities:
- Laboratory & Animal Facility maintenance, cleanliness, readiness, animal rearing, record keeping, and data entry.
- Assist in animal experiments, microbial testing, and any other experiments & Prepare and arrange workbench, reagents, consumables, and other materials as necessary on instruction.
- Store management, arrangement, official Jobs & any assigned task or job (If or whenever required) in accordance with and necessity of establishment and authorities.
Tenure: Initially for 1 Year. Extension of the appointment after 1 Year is subjective to a recommendation by PI and the performance of the candidate.
Age Limit: 50 years
Salary Details: Rs. 20,000/- + HRA per month (Increment of 15 % for every 3 years of experience maximum ceiling of 4 such revisions that is up to 12 years of experience).
