IIM: The Misra Centre for Financial Markets and Economy (MCFME) at IIM Ahmedabad facilitates research on contemporary issues related to financial markets within the overall economic framework and disseminates knowledge via seminars, conferences, media outreach, and more. Detailed Eligibility for IIM Ahmedabad jobs:

Educational Qualification: 

Manager, Research Lab :

  • Ph.D./FPM in Cognitive/Neuroscience or the application of Behavioral Science to areas of Economics, Marketing or Finance

Required Skill set:

  • Familiarity with instruments like EEG, Eye Tracker & GSR including data acquisition and data analysis. (Mandatory)
  • Well-equipped with experiment-building and stimulus presentation software such as E-Prime. (Mandatory)
  • Experience in working on large datasets using MATLAB/STATA/ Python. (Mandatory)
  • Experience of at least three years is preferred, applying experimental research methods and/or neuro methods in business, economics, finance, or marketing.
  • Well versed with statistical tool/ software. (SPSS/R)
  • Written and oral command of the English language.
  • Experience in engaging with industry.

Research & Consultation Responsibilities:

  • Programming & running of laboratory administration applications.
  • Collaborate with faculty for research in in the focal areas of the Centre.
  • Assist faculty with research experiments.
  • Conduct Training Workshops & Lab Demonstrations.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Physical maintenance, Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC), and record-keeping of technical laboratory infrastructure.
  • Procurement of lab materials/equipment and communication with internal stakeholders, equipment distributors and manufacturers regarding the same.
  • Implementation of procedures and rules for laboratory use.
  • Administration of recruitment of participants for experiments.
  • Organizational support for running experiments.
  • Directory maintenance and upgradation of subject pool.
  • Administrative support for the faculty members of CBS.
  • Support Chairperson(s) of Centre in outreach and engagement with industry.

Appointment Tenure: Depending on the skillset, the tenure of the appointment could range anywhere between 06-24 months with a potential for extension based on performance.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with the qualification and experience.

Assistant Manager – Billing:

  • The candidate should be a graduate (full-time) with first class OR a postgraduate (full-time) from any recognized university and
  • Should have a minimum 7 years of relevant experience in invoice checking or had work with tender /contracts for services and works.
  • A postgraduate degree in management would be preferred.
  • Work experience with government departments shall be preferred.

Research Associate (RA)(Surveys):



  • Applicant must have a Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Econometrics, or related fields (from top-tier institutions) with outstanding grades.

Data Scientist:

  • Applicant must have a minimum Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a subject closely related to the project – Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science, or related fields (from toptier institutions) with outstanding grades.
  • Applicants must have strong survey and quantitative analysis skills and sound knowledge of data and statistical methods. Proficient in programming languages and statistical software such as R, Python, STATA, etc.
  • Applicant must have experience of analysing and organizing large datasets and proficiency in at least one of the database management tools such as Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle DBMS, etc.
  • Applicant should be able to present a narrative through visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Microsoft tools.
  • Experience of working with web-based computing tools such as AWS and Google Cloud is desirable.
  • Expertise in machine learning and deep learning to be able to collate and synthesize data while also being able to identify any anomalies is desirable.
  • Applicants must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and should be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Duration: This is a full-time position and will be initially offered for a period of 16 months. A subsequent long-term extension would be considered depending on the performance of the employee.
