About NIA: Accordingly the NIA Act was enacted on 31-12-08 and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was born. At present NIA is functioning as the Central Counter Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency in India. NIA has registered and investigated 315 cases as on date i.e. 05.02.2020. After submission of charge sheets, 60 cases have been finally or partially decided in trial. Of these, 54 cases have ended in conviction giving NIA an enviable conviction percentage of 90%.

Senior Research Officers (SRO):

Ph.D or M.Phil in Social Science/Clinical Psychology/Political Science/Criminology/Forensics
03 years Work Experience in academic/research work in the respective field

Research Officers (RO):

Ph.D or M.Phil in Social Science/Clinical Psychology/Political Science/Criminology/Forensics
02 years Work Experience in academic/research work in the respective field

Junior Research Officers (JRO):

Post Graduate degree in Social Seience/Statistics/Psychology/Criminology/Forensics
01-year Work Experience in research work in respective field

Tenure: The tenure of research/study work is initially for a period of 01(one) year or till further orders whichever is earlier. During the period of engagement, the research/ study work of the research officers will be evaluated by the NIA authorities regularly. If the research/ study work is found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be considered for extension.
