Detailed Eligibility- NCESS Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Scientist B Post Code 01:
- Essential: Master’s Degree in Geology or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level from a recognised University.
- Desirable: Doctoral Degree with research experience/specialisation in the field of Planetary Geology/Palaeomagnetism, as evidenced through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Scientist B Post Code 02:
- Essential: Master’s Degree in Geology or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level from a recognised University.
- Desirable: Doctoral Degree with research experience/specialisation in the field of Mineralogy / Petrology / Critical Minerals, as evidenced through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Scientist B Post Code 03:
- Essential: Master’s Degree in Geophysics or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level from a recognised University.
- Desirable: Doctoral Degree with research experience/specialisation in the field of Gravity/Magnetic/Resistivity/Seismological studies, as evidenced through publications in peer-reviewed journals
Scientist D Post Code 04:
- Master’s Degree in Geology / Marine Geology or equivalent from a recognised University AND
- Seven years’ experience in research and development in Industrial or Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisation, or scientific activities and services.
Age Limit:
- Scientist B Post Code 01: Not exceeding 35 years
- Scientist B Post Code 02: Not exceeding 35 years
- Scientist B Post Code 03: Not exceeding 38 years (35 years plus 3 years age relaxation for OBC)
- Scientist D Post Code 04: Not exceeding 50 years
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC against the post reserved for them.
- Relaxation in upper age limit for the disabled, employees of Govt. Organisations, ex-servicemen and Kashmiri Migrants will be as in O.M. No.F.15012/2/2010-ESTT.(D) dated 27.03.2012 of Dept. of Personnel & Training, Government of India.

Selection Process of NCESS Trivandrum Recruitment:
- The Candidates should produce the original certificates at the time of interview.
- The shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test or direct Interview or test followed by interview as decided by NCESS.
- The names of candidates short-listed for written test/ interview, as the case may be, will be notified on the NCESS website (http//www.ncess.gov.in) and an intimation to this effect will be sent through the email- id furnished by the candidate.
