Detailed Eligibility โ ISRO VSSC Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Research Scientist:
- Essential:ย M.Sc. degree in Meteorology / Atmospheric Science with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a ten scale or equivalent.
- Nature of job: Data Product generation based on round-the-clock Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) scheduler mode operation, Data Validation and support in calibration and maintenance of Radar. (Round-the-clock operation)
- Duration: Purely on a contract basis for three years, they are not entitled to annual increments.
Project Associate-I:
- Essential:ย M.Scย degree in Physics / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology with an aggregate minimum ofย 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a ten scale or equivalent.
- Nature of job:ย Should work under the Project titled โStructure, Evolution & Dynamics of Mesoscale & Synoptic Scale Convective Systems using network Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) and satellite observations in Space Physics Laboratory (SPL)
- Duration:ย The position is initially for one year and is renewable every year (upto March 2026 only), subject to satisfactory work progress.

Selection Process for ISRO VSSC Careers:
- The selection process will be based on written tests and interviews.
- Candidates called for a Written Test will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi, also
Research Scientist:
- All valid applicants will be called for a written test.
- The written test Centre will be in Thiruvananthapuram only.
- Question paper pattern for written test:
- Part โAโ (Objective type): Area/Discipline Specific part โ Consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each (+1 and -1/3 pattern of marking) โ 90 minutes duration.
- Part โBโ (Objective type): Aptitude/Ability Tests โ Consists of a maximum of 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) totalling 20 marks (No negative marks) โ 30 minutes duration [Questions will be based on Numerical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Diagrammatic Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning & Deductive Reasoning].
- Interview: Based on the performance in the written test, candidates will be shortlisted for an interview in a ratio of 1:5.
- Qualifying Criteria: Written testย ย โ 50% each in Part โAโ & โBโ, Interview โ 50 marks (Out of 100), Aggregate marks โ 60%
- Weightage in Panel Generation โ For generation of final panel, 50% weightage will be given to Written Test marks and 50% weightage to interview marks
Project Associate-I :
- Based on the online application, an initial screening/written test will be conducted to shortlist the candidates for the interview.
- If a written test is opted for preliminary screening, the written test score will not reflect in the final selection process.
- The final selection will be based only on the performance of candidates in the interview.
