Selection Process for ISRO Careers:
For Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts:

- The Written Test evaluates both theoretical and practical knowledge from the relevant curriculum.
- Shortlisting for the Interview is done in a 1:5 ratio (five candidates per vacancy, with a minimum of 10 per category-wise vacancy).
- The final selection is made based on the combined marks from the Written Test and Interview—each carries 50% weightage.
- For candidates tied in marks, academic marks of the qualifying degree are considered first; if still tied, the older candidate is ranked higher.
For Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Library Assistant-A, Technician-B, Draughtsman-B/Nurse ‘B’/Radiographer-A& Cook Posts:
- The mode of Selection will be Written Test and Skill test.
- The Written Test will be conducted in such a way that theoretical and practical knowledge of the candidate is tested covering both breadth and depth of the prescribed curriculum.

- The merit list is drawn only from Written Test marks for those who qualify the Skill Test.
- In case of tied scores, academic marks of the essential qualification are used as tie-breakers.
For Fireman-A Post:
- Selection involves a Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
- PET is strictly “go/no-go”; marks are not considered for final selection.
- The merit list is prepared only from Written Test marks among those qualifying in PET and DME, with academic marks of the essential qualification used to break ties.
- Additionally, candidates must submit a Preliminary Medical Examination certificate (PME) in the prescribed format, valid for 6 months, issued by a registered medical practitioner not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon (Allopathy) working in government health services.
- Shortlisting for PET is conducted at a maximum of 1:50 ratio for category-wise vacancies inclusive of PME-qualified candidates.
- If the ratio is not met, additional candidates are called up to maintain the 1:50 ratio.
