IMU Recruitment 2023 notification announced for the posts of Non – Teaching Posts ( Assistant Registrar / Assistant Engineer ) in various disciplines. There are totally about 14 vacancies available for above mentioned posts. Candidates with the qualification of B.E/B.Tech/M.Com/Any PG degree/CA/ICWA are eligible to apply for the job. About IMU: The Indian Maritime University is a central university in India which deals with a wide range of topics related to the sea, ranging from oceanography to maritime law and history, and including practical topics such as search and rescue at sea and the transportation of dangerous goods. It was established by the Indian Maritime University Act 2008,on 14 November 2008. It has an All-India jurisdiction and the headquarters is at Chennai. It has six campuses in Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai Port, Navi Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Assistant Registrar :
- A Master’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
- At least three years of relevant administrative experience in an office in Academics/Examinations/Finance & Accounts/Procurement/Human Resources Management.
- Desirable : Good knowledge of Information, Communication & Technology.
Assistant Registrar (Finance) :
- A Master’s Degree in Commerce with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade or a Bachelor’s Degree with CA/ICWA; the degree should be from a recognized University.
- At least three years of experience in an office in the Finance and Accounts wing.
- Desirable : Good knowledge of Information, Communication & Technology, especially in Accounting software.
Assistant Engineer : B.E/B.Tech. in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering with 5 years’ regular service in construction and maintenance of buildings and roads/Electrical works.
Age Limit :
- Assistant Registrar : Not more than 40 years.
- Assistant Registrar (Finance) : Not more than 40 years.
- Assistant Engineer : Maximum 40 years.
Age Relaxation :
- The upper age limit in the case of Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs shall be relaxed by 05 years.
- Age relaxation to persons with disabilities will be given as per GoI Rules.
- Relaxation of age limit would be permissible to such persons who have a minimum of 40% disability.

Selection Process of IMU Recruitment 2023 :
- The selection process includes Computer-based Test / Personal Interview.
- Weightage for Screening Test & Personal Interview shall be 85% and 15% respectively for Direct Recruitment mode and 100% for Personal Interview for Deputation mode.
- Applicant shall keep a printout of the filled-in application which shall be produced at the time of the selection process.
Computer-based Test :
- The Online Computer-based test for each post will consist a total of 120 multiple choice questions and the duration of the test will be 120 minutes.
- There will be penalty for wrong answers.
- Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one-fourth (1/4) of the marks assigned to that question.
- If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question.
- Candidates who are shortlisted based on the Online CBT scores will be called for Personal Interview.
Application Fees :
- The Application Fee for Direct Recruitment and Deputation is Rs.700/- + applicable GST for SC/ST candidates.
- Rs.1000/- + applicable GST for all others.
