About Tripura Public Service Commission:
The provision for the constitution of the Public Service Commission was first incorporated under Article 96C of the Government of India Act,1919. After that, in 1923, the ‘Lee Commission’ was constituted to formulate the principles/terms and conditions of the Public Service Commission. Subsequently, as per the ‘Lee Commission’ recommendations, the Federal Public Service Commission was established in India for the first time on 1st October 1926. Lee Commission also recommended establishing the Provincial Public Service Commission’s statehood on 21st January 1972. The Tripura Public Service Commission was established on 30th October 1972 under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Sri G.P. Bagchi was the first Chairman, and Sri I. K. Roy was the first Tripura Public Service Commission member. The Commission is located at the old Assembly House of Tripura, at Akhaura Road, Agartala.

Detailed Eligibility for TPSC Jobs:
Educational Qualification:
- A Postdoctoral qualification DM/M.Ch/DNB equated to DM /M.Ch-(for disciplines under the super Specialties group as per Teachers Eligibility Qualifications (TEQ) Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022 of NMC in the concerned subject and as amended by NMC from time to time
- Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali or Kok-borok.

Teaching And Research Experience:
- Associate Professor for three years in the concerned subject from a permitted/recognized medical college/ institution.
- Special training for three years in the respective Super Specialty subject in a Teaching Institution / Centre of Excellence with dedicated service.
- Should have at least four Research publications ( at least two as Associate Professor)(only original papers, meta-analyses, systematic reviews and case series that are published in journals included in Medline, Pubmed, Central Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index, Expanded Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DoAJ will be considered).
- Candidates should have completed the NMC-recognized basic course in Medical Education Technology.
- The basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC should have been completed. And as amended by NMC from time to time.
Age Limit ( As of 22 April 2024 ): 50 years
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age is relaxable by 05 years in the case of ST/SC/PH/PWD candidates, Govt. Servants and other categories as specified by the State Government occasionally.
- The Govt. Employees belonging to ST/SC/ other categories shall not get this relaxation over and above the general rélaxation of five(5) years available to them.
Salary Details:
- Pay of Rs. 37,400/- to 67,000/- (Pre Revised)
- Academic Grade Pay Rs.10,000/-
- Special allowances: Rs.12,000/- pm, Other allowances, as admissible (Revised)

Selection Process for TPSC Careers:
The Selection will be based on the Academic Performance Index (API) and Interviews. API- 90 marks+ Interview -10 Marks, a Total of 100 marks
API Score for Direct recruitment for super speciality Cadre:
MBBS Degree: Total Score – 10 marks
- 1st Professional Examination- 2.5marks (Passed in First attempt)
- 2nd Professional Examination – 2.5 marks (Passed in First attempt)
- 3rd Professional Examination – 2.5 marks (Passed in First attempt)
- 4th Professional Examination – 2.5 marks (Passed in First attempt)
- Full marks will be awarded to those who pass all professional exams in 1st (first) attempt.
- 1/2 (half) marks will be deducted from each professional exam for each additional attempt (more than one) to pass the professional examination (From total marks of 10).
- 05 or more additional attempts to pass the professional examination will invite zero (0) marks of the obtained marks of a candidate from the concerned professional exam (From total marks of 10).
PG (MDS/MS/DNB) degree (Broad Speciality): Total Score- 25 marks
- Full marks will be awarded to those who passed his/her Post Graduate examination (MD/MS/Diploma/DNB equated to DM /M.Ch- (for disciplines under the super Specialties group as per Teachers Eligibility Qualifications (TEQ Medical Institutions Regulations, 2022 of NMC in the concerned subject and as amended by NMC from time to time) In 1st(first) attempt (Total marks 25).
- 03 Marks will be deducted for each additional attempt (more than one to pass the graduate professional examination) (From a total mark of 25).
Super Speciality(DM/M.CH/DNB) Degree: Total Score- 25 marks
- Full marks will be awarded to those who passed his/her Post Graduate examination (MD)/MS/Diploma/DNB equated to DM /MCh (for disciplines under the super Specialties group as per Teachers Eligibility QualificatiOnS (TEQ) Medical Reggiations, 2022 of NAAC.in the concerned subject arid as amended by NMC from time to time) in a (first) attempt (Total marks 25).
- 05 Marks will be deducted for each additional attempt (more than one) to pass the Super Speciality Degree (From a total mark of 25).
Publications: Total Score- 10 marks
- Research publication/case report in international & national journals Approved by NMC @ 04 marks and 03 marks respectively (Total marks 20).
- Publication must comprise the latest NMC/MCI-approved indexed Journal.
- No marks will be added for Non-indexed journals or publications that do not include the latest NMC/MCL guidelines for publication in the journal.
- Research Paper/Case Report must be Polished during the Super Specialty Study period & post-Super Specialty period.
- The candidate must be the publications’ first, second, or Corresponding author; otherwise, the marks of publications will not be added.
Post Doctoral Fellowship of the concerned subject after Super Specialty– 10 marks
Gold Medal in any stage of Medical Qualification – 5 marks
Service Experience- 5 Marks: beyond the minimum eligibility criteria as per TEQ regulation of NN1C, 2022 – total 5 Mark @ marks per year with a maximum mark of 5 for experience in related Super, Specialty subject.
Interview: 10 marks
Total Score= 10+25+25+10+10+5+5 +10= 100
