Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC): 1923, the Indian Government established a Public Service Commission. It is a department of the government of Tamil Nadu. It is responsible for governing personnel recruitment into the state’s public service. All the recruitments conducted by this commission are purely merit-based.

Assistant Agricultural Officer:



Essentials:



  • Must have passed Higher Secondary (plus two) Examination.
  • Must possess a 02 years Diploma in Agriculture from an Institution recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu or affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University; or Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul District; or Annamalai University or any other institution under the control of the Commissioner of Agriculture.

Note:

  • Candidates without a two-year Diploma in Agriculture are not eligible for the post of Assistant Agricultural Officer even though they possess Higher Qualifications.
  • Diploma in Agricultural Technology (3 Years Course) is not the prescribed Educational qualification as per the special rule for the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Extension Subordinate Service

Assistant Horticultural Officer:

Essentials:

  • A Pass in Higher Secondary Examination. And
  • A pass in a 02 years Diploma course in Horticulture in the Institutions approved by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University / Gandhigram Rural University / Director of Horticulture and Plantation Crops or Diploma course in Horticulture awarded by Annamalai University.

Note:

  • Degree Holders in Horticulture are not eligible for the post of Assistant Horticultural Officer.
  • Two-year agricultural diplomas and one-year post-diplomas in commercial horticulture are not eligible for this post.

Age Limit(As on 01 July 2023): 

  • SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of All Categories: Minimum 18 Years – No Maximum Age Limit
  • Others [i.e. candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs]:  18 – 32 Years – Should not have completed.

Selection Process for TNPSC Jobs:

  • The Selection will be made in a single stage, based on the marks obtained by the applicants in the written examination and subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
  • The Commission’s website will announce a tentative list of eligible candidates for certificate verification.
  • After verification of the original certificates, the eligible candidates will be summoned for final selection.

CBT: Scheme of Examination:

  • The candidates ‘ answer sheets for Paper I and Part B of Paper II will be evaluated only if the candidates secure minimum qualifying marks in Part A of Paper II.
  • Marks secured in Paper-I and Part-B of Paper-II will only be considered for ranking.
  • The questions in Subject Paper–I and questions for Part–B of Paper II will be set both in English and Tami

Minimum qualifying marks for selection:

  • SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC/ DCs and BCs: 135 marks
  • Others: 180 marks

  • Registration Fee: Rs.150/- For One Time Registration Applicants. Those who have already registered in the One Time online Registration system and are within the validity period of 5 years are exempted.
  • Examination Fee: Rs.100/-
