TNPSC Exams 2023 notification announced for the posts of Tourist Officer & Road Inspector & Agricultural Officers in various disciplines. Candidates with the qualification of Graduate degree in Travel and Tourism/MBA & Diploma/ITI & B.Sc/M.Sc respectively are eligible to apply for the jobs. TNPSC Exams

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC): In 1923 the Indian Government established a Public Service Commission. It is a department of the government of Tamil Nadu. It is responsible for governing the recruitment of personnel into the state’s public service. All the recruitments conducted by this commission are purely merit-based.

Educational Qualification :

Tourist Officer :

  • Post Graduate degree in Travel and Tourism; (or)
  • Any post Graduate degree with one subject on Tourism; (or)
  • Any post Graduate degree with M.Phil. in Tourism; (or)
  • Any post Graduate degree with Diploma in Tourism.
  • Certificate course in Computer on Office Automation awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education or its equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English and Tamil Languages (i.e., must have passed both the Tamil and English as one of the subject at Degree level).
  • Provided that other things being equal, preference shall be given to the holders of MBA degree.

Age Limit ( As on 01 July 2023 ) :

  • For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all categories and Ex-Servicemen : Minimum age – 18 years & Maximum no age limit.
  • Others : Minimum age – 18 years & Maximum age – 32 years.

Age Relaxation :

For Persons with Benchmark Disability:

  • No maximum age limit for Differently Abled Persons applicants belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs].
  • “Others” not belonging to any of the categories mentioned in above are eligible for age concession upto 10 years.

For Ex-Servicemen:

  • No maximum age limit for Ex-Servicemen applicants belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs].
  • The maximum age limit is 50 years for “Others”.

Selection Process of TNPSC Exams 2023 :

The selection process includes Written test/Oral Test.

Written test :

  • The questions in Written Examination Paper-II (General Studies) will be set both in Tamil and English.
  • Paper-III and Paper-IV will be set in English only.
  • The Written Examination answer sheets of Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks [40%-i.e. 40 marks] in Paper-I (Tamil Eligibility Test) and the marks secured in Paper-I will not be taken into account for ranking.

An Oral Test in the shape of an Interview :

  • Based on the results of the written examination, candidates shall be admitted to the online certificate verification.
  • After online certificate verification, based on the marks obtained in the written examination and subject to the rule of reservation of appointments, wherever it applies, candidates shall be admitted to original certificate verification and oral test.
  • The final selection will be made based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination Paper-II, PaperIII, Paper-IV and Oral Test taken together, subject to Rule of Reservation of Appointments.

  • Examination Fees : Rs 100/-

  • After verification of the original certificates, the eligible candidates will be summoned for final selection through counselling method.
  • The applicant who has not appeared for any of the subjects in the examination will not be considered for selection, even if he / she secures the minimum qualifying marks for selection.
  • First, the selection will be made for the Backlog vacancies.
  • Secondly, the selection will be made for regular vacancies following the rule of reservation of appointments.

Assistant Director of Agriculture (Extn) :

  • A degree of M.Sc in Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Economics.
  • Provided that other things being equal, preference shall be given to those who possesses the M.Sc., degree in Agricultural Extension.

Horticultural Officer : Must possess a Degree in B.Sc Horticulture.

Note : Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.

Selection Process of TNPSC Exams 2023 :

  • The selection process consists of Examination which will conducted in OMR / Computer Based Test (CBT) Method.
  • The paper is in Objective type.
  • Only marks secured in Paper-I and Part-B of Paper-II will be considered for ranking.
  • The question papers for the Paper – I i.e. subject papers will be set in English and PART-B of Paper-II, will be set both in Tamil and English.
  • The final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants at the written examination and oral test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
  • Applicants’ appearance in the written examination and oral test is compulsory.
