Education Qualification:

Sports Quota Posts:

Group – ‘C’ & Erstwhile Group – ‘D’

Level – 4/5:

Passed Graduation or its equivalent examination in any discipline from a Government-recognised University/Institution

Level – 2/3:

Passed class 12th (10+2 stage) or its equivalent examination.
Educational Qualification must be from a Government-recognised Board / Council / Institutions, etc. OR
Passed Matriculation from a recognised Board, plus Course Completed, Act Apprenticeship OR
Passed class 10th from Govt. recognised Board / Council / Institutions, etc., plus ITI passed OR its equivalent examination or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.[Minimum educational qualification should be as applicable to the post offered]

Level – 1:

Passed class 10th or its equivalent examination, OR ITI passed, OR its equivalent examination, OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Education Qualification from a Government-recognised Board/Council/ Institutes, etc.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2026): Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years

No age relaxation (Upper or Lower) shall be permissible.

Salary:

Group ‘C’, Level-4/Level-5 (7thCPC): GP Rs.2400/2800 (6th CPC)
Group ‘C’ Level-2/Level-3 (7thCPC): GP Rs.1900/2000 (6th CPC)
Erstwhile Group ‘D’ Level-1 (7th PC): GP Rs.1800/ (6th CPC)

Selection Process for Eastern Railway Careers:

The recruitment will be based on trials & assessment of recognised sports achievements as per norms, Educational Qualifications, etc.
The candidates, who are found FIT in trial, only will be considered for next stage.

The distribution of marks is as under:

For assessment of recognized Sports Achievement as per norms: 50 Marks
For game skill, physical fitness & Coach’s observations during Trials: 40 Marks
Educational Qualification: 10 Marks
Total Marks: 100 Marks

All field trials for recruitment of sports persons through the Open Advertisement Quota will be video-graphed.

Trial: Trials of the candidates shall be conducted by Trial Committee to assess their sports performance and suitability for Zonal Railway team as well as Indian Railway’s team. Trial Committee shall give the recommendations in terms of FIT or NOT FIT for consideration for next stage as per criteria given below.

For game skill, physical fitness & coach’s observations during trials: 40 Marks (Maximum Marks)
FIT Candidate: 25 Marks or more
NOT FIT candidate Marks: below 25

After Trial, only FIT candidates shall be considered for next stage by Recruitment Committee. Recruitment Committee shall award 60 marks for sports achievement and educational qualification as per following break-up

For assessment of recognized Sports achievements as per norms: 50 Marks
Educational Qualification: 10 Marks

Examination Fee:

For all candidates except those below mentioned – Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- (Rupees four hundred) to those who actually appear in the written examination. (UR-Male, OBC-Male, EWS Male Rs. 500/-)
For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PwBD, Women, Minorities and Economically Backwards Classes, Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty) only with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the written examination.

Mode of Payment: Examination fee should be paid via a Demand Draft issued only by any branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA (SBI), issued in favour of Chairman, Railway Recruitment Cell.
