Group C:
Classical Vocal (Male)/Instrumental (Violin):
Essential:
- Passed 12th or its equivalent Examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate from Govt. a recognized Education Board.
- A 50% mark is not to be insisted upon in the case of SC/ST/ESM & PWD candidates and candidates with higher qualifications from UGC-recognized universities. OR Passed 10th from recognized Board Plus ITI/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) approved by NCVT for Technician Grade-III in Level 2 of Pay Matrix of 7th CPC. (A diploma in engineering is not considered an alternative higher qualification).
- Degree/Diploma/Certificate course in respective discipline only from Govt. Recognized University/ Institute.
Desirable:
- Experience in the field in applied discipline and performance given on All India Radio/ Doordarshan etc.
- Awards/Prizes won at the National Level in applied discipline.

Age Relaxation:
- OBC: 03 years

Selection Process for Eastern Railway Careers:
- The selection process will be based on two stages which are of 100 Marks.
- The candidates must choose any one of the languages for the written test only: English or Hindi.
- The Minimum Qualifying percentage is 40% for both Stage–I and Stage II separately.
- Only on qualifying Stage-I, the candidate would be eligible for Stage-II of the recruitment process.
- After clearing Stage I and Stage II and after the recommendation of the Recruitment Committee, the candidate would be sent for medical examination at Railway Hospital as per MERIT ORDER in the ratio of 1:1 of Notified vacancies.
- For the Written Test, questions will be Objective type of multiple choice, which may include General Knowledge, General Science, General Mathematics, Knowledge of general English & Official Language, Professional knowledge, Reasoning and Aptitude, etc.
- The duration for the Written Test is – 60 Minutes and the Qualifying percentage in the Written Test = is 40%.
- The date of the Written Test and Other stages of the recruitment process shall be intimated from time to time through the official website of RRC-ER (www.rrcer.org).
Stage – I:
- Written Test (The written test will consist of an Objective type question. Time of written test is 60 minutes): 50 Marks
- Only on qualifying Stage-I, the candidate would be eligible for Stage-II.
- However, for Stage-II, candidates would be called in the ratio of 1:3 of notified vacancy as per the merit order in Stage-I.
Stage – II:
- Assessment of talent in the applied discipline:
- Practical Demonstration in Applied Discipline: 35 Marks
- Testimonials/Prizes etc. in the applied discipline: 15 Marks
Application Fee:
- For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PWD, Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/-
- For other candidates: Rs. 500/-
Mode of payment: Examination fees should be paid online using Internet Banking or a Debit Card or Credit Card (Service Charges for payment of fees will be borne by the candidates).

Selection Process for Eastern Railway Careers:

Computer Based Test:
- Regarding RBE 60/2015, GDCE would be a single-stage computer-based test (CBT).
- The Questionnaire will be 90 minutes long and will consist of 100 questions.
- The question paper shall only be of Objective & Multiple Choice Type in English and Hindi.
- There shall be negative marking in the CBT, and 1/3rd of the allotted marks for each question shall be deducted for every wrong answer.
- The minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories is as follows: UR – 40%, OBC (Non-creamy layer) – 30%, SC – 30% & ST – 25%.
Document Verification & Medical Examination:
- Document verification and medical examination would be conducted only for CBT-qualified candidates as per the prescribed ratio of 1:1 for notified vacancies in the order of merit in the respective categories.
- Biometrics/Thumb impression/Signature will be captured/taken at each stage of the Selection process, and their matching is mandatory at all stages of the GDCE process.
- While appearing for the Selection stages like CBT & DV, etc., candidates must bring their Railway Identity card and two copies of a Spare Letter issued from the respective unit where the concerned Supervisor/Controlling Officer has attested the photograph & signature of the candidate.
- The E-call letters /Admit cards to the eligible candidates and related instructions will be available about ONE/TWO WEEK/S before downloading the CBT/DV on the RRC/ER website.
- E-call letters/Admit cards will not be sent to candidates by post.
- Candidates may note that RRC only recommends names of the empanelled candidates, and appointment is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test, which is to be conducted by the Railway Administration.
