RRB ALP 2024 Exam Pattern 2024:

The Assistant Loco Pilot posts selection process will be conducted in four stages. The first stage will be for RRB ALP 2024 Exam CBT-1, and the second stage of CBT-2 will be online objective-type papers.  The third stage will be the CBAT, which will be conducted for the candidates qualified in the CBT-2. The final stage will be the document verification & Medical Examination.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern- CBT 1:

RRB ALP Syllabus & Exam Pattern: The 1st stage of CBT for Assistant Loco Pilot posts is common and consists of 75 questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness on Current Affairs. The first stage of CBT consists of 4 sections that must be completed in 60 minutes.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern- CBT 2:

The 2nd stage of CBT for Assistant Loco Pilot posts has two steps: Part A and B. Part A has four subjects – Maths, Basic Science and Engineering, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness. Part B consists of questions from the relevant trade.  The second stage of CBT is conducted in two parts. Part A will constitute four sections with 100 questions that must be completed in 90 minutes. Part B will constitute 75 questions in relevant trade that need to be completed in 60 minutes.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test -CBAT (for Candidates who have opted for ALP):

Candidates equal to 8 (eight) times the number of ALP vacancies for each notified community /category, viz., UR, OBC(NCL), SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM), shall be shortlisted for CBAT based on their marks in Part-A of CBT-2 and application of reservation rules provided they qualify in Part-B of CBT-2.

It is mandatory to clear each test battery/section of CBAT separately to qualify.

Qualifying Marks: All candidates (irrespective of community) must secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery separately to qualify for the CBAT.



Merit List: The merit list will be prepared only from amongst candidates qualifying in the CBAT. 70% weightage will be given for marks obtained in Part A of CBT-2 and 30% for scores obtained in the CBAT.

Document Verification(DV):

The document verification will be the final stage of the RRB ALP 2024 Exam.  Based on the marks and merit of candidates in Part-A of CBT-2, qualifying in Part-B of CBT-2 and scores in CBAT, candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Document Verification. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration and final verification of all essential documents and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.

RRB ALP Syllabus & Exam Pattern: The Indian Railways conduct the RRB ALP 2024 Exam for recruiting the Assistant Loco Pilot. A computer-based test will be conducted in two stages, and then a CBAT will be conducted for opted candidates.
