Detailed Eligibility – NIOT Careers:

Educational Qualification:

Hindi Typist:

10+2 or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University
Typing Speed of 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on the computer (corresponds to 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depression for each word). Time allowed: 10 minutes.

Job Requirements:

Typing of documents in Hindi in computers.
Preparation of periodical reports, drawing up and drafting agenda, minutes for Official Language Implementation Committee(OLIC) and official meetings.
Preparation of reports and returns concerning the implementation of the Official Language.
Maintenance of work diary and dispatch registers.
Periodical updation of the website.
The candidate must be equipped to handle the above requirements independently.

Age limit (As on 02 September 2024): Not exceeding 28 years

Age relaxation of NIOT Careers:

Upper age relaxable for Govt. Servants following the instructions or orders issued by the Central Govt. from time to time
The upper age limit in respect of the Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and other special categories of persons shall be relaxable following the orders issued by the Central Govt. from time to time in this regard.

Selection Process of NIOT Careers:

The selection process will be based on written and typing tests.
Candidates will be shortlisted roughly in the ratio of 1:50, subject to the availability of a sufficient number of eligible candidates.
Candidates will be shortlisted by applying a suitable cut-off in the percentage of marks in multiples of five.
The typing test will be qualifying where speed and accuracy are critical.
The final selection of the candidate will be based on the candidate’s performance in the written test and who qualified for the typing test.
The criteria followed in shortlisting candidates will be final.
The Written/Typing test call letter will be communicated to the candidates’ registered email ID.

Technician Grade – A (Electronics/Instrumentation/Welder/Mechanical/Fitter (Mechanical)

10th Class Pass (Secondary/Matric) of a recognized Board and ITI course in Electronics/ Instrumentation/Welder/Mechanical/Fitter (Mechanical) /approved by National Council for Vocational Training or equivalent from recognized Institutions.
Basic knowledge of computer
Desirable: Experience of two years in the relevant field in relation to the job requirements.

Scientific Assistant-Gr.A (Mechanical)

Three (03) years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (with 60% marks) or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Board or University.
Basic knowledge of computer
Desirable: Not less than 2 years of experience in handling fabrication, assembly and testing mechanical system for sub-sea or surface applications, quality control management for such systems or operation and maintenance, dry docking or execution of projects in the area of ocean technology and engineering

Scientific Assistant – Gr.-A (Electrical):

Three (03) years of Diploma in Electrical Engineering (with 60% marks) or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Board or University.
Basic knowledge of computer
Desirable: Not less than 2 years of experience in Assembly, Integration and testing of drives, transformers, motor, switch gears pertinent to subsea/process/heavy industry.

Scientific Assistant – Gr.-A (Electronics and Communication Engineering):

Three (03) years of Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electronics & Communication /Telecommunication Engineering (with 60% marks) or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Board or University.
Basic knowledge of computer
Desirable: Not less than 2 years experience relating to design, preparation of P&ID, specifications, procurement, installation, commissioning and monitoring of the overall electronics, instrumentation and control systems of the project

Scientific Assistant – Gr.-A (Life Sciences):

First Class B.Sc., Degree in Zoology (with 60% marks) or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Board or University.
Basic knowledge of computer.
Desirable: M.Sc., degree in Zoology & Not less than 2 years of research experience in R&D laboratory.

Scientific Assistant-Gr.B /Technical Officer (Mechanical) :

Three (03) years of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (with 60% marks) or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Board or University.

Three (03) years of Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics and Instrumentation (with 60% marks) or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Board or University.

Desirable:
- Not less than 3 years experience in the areas of marine electronics, data acquisition, underwater acoustics systems integration and testing
- Fibre optic splicing / preparing and effecting connectors and maintenance of FO communication equipment & systems.

Selection Process of NIOT Jobs:

The selection process includes Trade/Written Test and Skill Test.
The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum requirements and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for test
NIOT may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the Test to the reasonable limit through Short listing Process by adopting one or more suitable criteria. Candidates will be shortlisted roughly in the ratio of 1:50
The skill test will be a practical test and will be of qualifying nature. The candidate has to qualify the skill test by securing the minimum cut-off mark fixed by the Selection Committee.
The final selection of the candidate will be based on the candidate’s performance in the written test/trade test
The call letter for tests will be communicated through the registered email
