- Essential: B.E./B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/M.sc
- Specialization: Materials Engg/ Materials Science/Metallurgical Engg/ Metallurgical & Material Science/ Mechanical Engg./ Metallurgy/Manufacturing Engg/ Instrumentation Engg/Industrial Engg/ Aerospace Engg or equivalent.
Tenure of appointment: The positions are temporary for 01 year or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier
Age Limit (As on 02 May 2024): Not to exceed 28 Years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST, Women & PwBD – 5 years
- OBC (NC) – 3 years
Stipend: Rs. 25,000/- (Consolidated) per month

Selection Process of DIAT Vacancy:
- The selection process will be based on Interviews.
- The interview will be in person or via video conferencing, whichever suits DIAT, and shall be intimated to the shortlisted candidates.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Sc in First Division with NET/GATE OR
- M.E./ M.Tech in First Division both at Graduate and Post graduate level.
- Specialization: Materials Engg. / Materials Science / Mechanical Engg. / Metallurgical Engg & Material Science/ Metallurgy/ Manufacturing Engg. / Manufacturing Science/ Production Engg. / Instrumentation Engg/ Basic Science/ Civil/ Industrial Engg or equivalent.
Note: Recruited JRFs shall be encouraged to register for PhD at this institute through proper channels as per DIAT norms.
Tenure of appointment: The position is temporary for a period of 03 Years (OR) coterminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
Age Limit:
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Not to exceed 28 Years.
Age relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable up to 05 years for SC/ST, Women & PwBD and 03 years for OBC (NCL) candidates
Stipend:
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Rs.37,000/- + HRA (as applicable)
