About CIBA: Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) is one of the research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi to serves as the nodal agency for catering to the needs of the brackishwater aquaculture research in India. The institute is headquartered at Santhome High Road, Raja Annamalai Puram, Chennai, with a research centre at Kakdwip in West Bengal and an experimental field station at Muttukadu, roughly 30 km to the south of Chennai. Detailed Eligibility – CIBA Careers:
Educational Qualifications:
Project Name: Development of indigenous shrimp (Indian white shrimp) Aquaculture: Genetic improvement program of Penaeus indicus, Phase -I.
Research Associate:
- PhD or equivalent degree in Life Sciences with specialization in Aquaculture, Fish Genetics and Breeding, Marine Biology / Marine Biotechnology. or
- Three years of experience in shrimp breeding and shrimp hatchery management, shrimp farming, shrimp nursery and grow-out farming, design and development experience after M.F.Sc., / M.Sc / M.Tech with at least one research paper in science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
- Desirable: Working knowledge of shrimp breeding and shrimp hatchery management, technical skill in artificial insemination, induced maturation of penaeid shrimps, and shrimp farm management as evident through dissertation/project work/research publication or work experience certificate.
Young Professional – II:
- M.F.Sc in Fish Genetics & Breeding or Fish Health or Aquaculture or Fish Nutrition including Biochemistry; M.Tech (Biotechnology) or any professional Degree in Molecular Biology or Biotechnology with five years Integrated Degree or
- Masters in Zoology or Marine Science or Branch of Aquaculture or Biotechnology or Genetics with two years of work experience in shrimp aquaculture, including hatchery or disease diagnostics through university or institute or publicly funded institute projects or limited company.
- Desirable: Knowledge and experience in molecular biology, disease diagnostics, disease screening of OIE-listed shrimp pathogens and molecular techniques. Technical skill in artificial insemination, induced maturation of penaeid shrimps
Field Assistant:
- Diploma (Fisheries Science and Related subjects) / B.F.Sc/ B.Sc. (Zoology) / B.Sc. (Microbiology) / B.Tech. (Biotech) / B.Sc. (Biotechnology / Bio-informatics) / B.Sc. (Marine Science) or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
- Desirable: Working knowledge on shrimp seed production, water quality analysis, algal live feed culture, nursery and grow-out rearing of shrimps, shrimp hatchery management, biological data analysis and bioinformatics, shrimp farm management as evident through dissertation/project work/research publication or work experience certificate.
Duration: Till March 2025 or closure of the project
Age Limit:
- Research Associate: Maximum 40 years for men and 45 years for women
- Young Professional – II: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women
- Field Assistant: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women
Age Relaxation:
- As per the rules, age limits are relaxable for SC / ST / OBC candidates.
Stipend:
- Research Associate: Rs.55,000 /- + HRA per month
- Young Professional – II: Rs.42,000 /- per month (Consolidated)
- Field Assistant: Rs.18,600 /- per month (Consolidated)
