About WR Western Railways: Western Railway is one of the 17 Railway Zone by Indian Railways. The major railway routes of Indian Railways which come under Western Railways are Mumbai Central – Ratlam, Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad and Palanpur – Ahmedabad. It is divided into six operating divisions: Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Ratlam, and Mumbai. Vadodara railway station, being the junction point for the Ahmedabad – Mumbai route and the Mumbai – Ratlam route towards New Delhi, is the busiest junction Station in Western Railways and one of the busiest junctions of Indian Railways too, while Ahmedabad Division earns the highest revenue followed by Mumbai Division and Vadodara Division.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should pass 12th or its equivalent examination. Educational qualification must be from the recognized institution
  • Candidates should complete any degree in any disciplines from a recognized university

Note: Persons, if appointed to the category of Clerk-cum-Typist, should acquire typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within a period of four years from the date of appointment

Minimum sports norm required for pay matrix:

For Level 4/5 pay matrix:

  • Represented the Country in Olympic Games (Senior Category)  OR
  • At least 3rd Positioning any of the following:-

  • Represented the Country in any of the following:

Western Railway Recruitment 2019 – Selection process:

The selection process is based on the trials & assessment of sports achievements, Educational Qualification. The candidates, who are found a FIT in trials, only will be considered for the next stage.

For Trials:

  • (a) For game skill, physical fitness & coach’s: 40 marks
    observations during Trials
  • (b) FIT Candidate: 25 marks or more
    NOT FIT Candidate: Below 25 marks

After Trial, only FIT candidates shall be considered for the next stage by Recruitment Committee. Recruitment Committee will be award 60 marks for sports achievements and educational qualifications

  • For assessment of recognized Sports: 50 marks
    achievements as per norms
  • Educational Qualification: 10 marks

Final Merit List Candidates will be prepared on the basis of total marks

  • For level 4/5: 70 marks
  • For level 2/3: 65 marks

      The Selection will be made on the basis of a single stage of Computer Based Test(CBT)/OMR based examinations. For some posts, Skill test will be conducted for checking typing ability.
