Udupi Cochin Shipyard Jobs – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualifications:
Supervisor (HSE):
- 3-year Diploma in any stream of engineering.
- One Year Diploma in Industrial Safety Engineering, preferably from any Government Institutions
- Essential: Five years of practical work experience in Health safety and Environment in Shipyard/ Marine/ Construction/engineering/Oil & Gas/ manufacturing Industry.
- Desirable: Should have good communication in Kannada, Hindi and English
Age Limit (As on 12 May 2025): The upper age limit prescribed for the post shall not exceed 45 years. i.e. applicants should be born on or after 13 May 1980.
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates in posts reserved for them.
- Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen shall be as per Government of India guidelines. However, in no case, the age limit after applying all age relaxations shall exceed 50 years.
Period of Contract: The contract period is for five years, subject to project requirements and individual performance.

- Supervisor (HSE): 01 Post
Selection Process of Udupi Cochin Shipyard Careers:
- Phase I – Written test (Objective Type Test – 20 Marks & Descriptive Type Test– 60 Marks) for all the posts
- Phase II – Power Point presentation on work experience (20 Marks) for all the posts
- Depending upon the number of online applications, the objective type test shall be held at any place in UCSL-Malpe as decided by UCSL. The allocation of examination center shall be at the sole discretion of UCSL.
- The Phase I – Objective type test shall be of 25 minutes duration comprises General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The pattern of the Objective Type Test question paper, number of questions and allotment of marks is detailed under:
- No of questions in each section/ marks per section:
- General Knowledge: 5
- General English: 5
- Reasoning: 5
- Quantitative aptitude: 5
- Total no of questions for objective type test/max marks: 20
- The Descriptive type written test shall be of 60 marks, 120 minutes duration comprising of discipline-related questions.
- The mark list for each post shall be prepared based on marks secured by candidates in the Phase- I –Test. Candidates who score minimum pass marks and above in the Phase I – test shall be short listed for certificate verification, subject to meeting eligibility requirements for the posts
- The minimum pass mark for Phase 1 Objective as well as Descriptive tests shall be as below: –
- For Unreserved & EWS candidates – 50 % of the Total Marks of each test.
- For OBC candidates – 45 % of the Total Marks of each test only for vacancies reserved for OBC
- For SC/ST Candidates – 40 % of the Total Marks of each test only for vacancies reserved for SC/ST
- For PwBD Candidates – 40% of the Total Marks of each test.
- Phase II (PowerPoint Presentation), shall be held at UCSL- Malpe Unit or through electronic media or any other location as decided by UCSL. The PowerPoint Presentation shall be of duration not more than ten minutes highlighting the work experience of candidates.
