Sikkim Public Service Commission:
Sikkim Public Service Commission, commonly known as SPSC, is a state-autonomous body commissioned and established by the Government of Sikkim. At the helm of Article 320 of the Constitution of India, it conducts Civil Services examinations and Competitive Examinations for various civil services and departmental posts under the jurisdiction of Sikkim state. The commission is amended to function per the constitution of India and the Union Public Service Commission, which provides the state public service commission amendments.

Detailed Eligibility – SPSC Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Librarian: A Masters Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a· point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library
Age Limit (As on 31 July 2024): Should have attained the age of 21 years but should not have exceeded 40 years.
Pay Level: Level 10

Selection Process of SPSC Careers:
- The Selection shall be made through open competitive examinations among eligible candidates.
- A candidate who obtains the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination, if held so, shall have to appear for Viva-voce/ interview.
- After the examination and interview, the names of the successful candidates will be arranged by the Commission in the order of merit based on marks awarded to each candidate.
- The scheme/pattern of examination will be as determined by the SPSC by the UGC guidelines/AICTE guidelines.
- Those candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called to scrutinise documents in the ratio fixed by the Commission.
- Short-listed candidates are required to submit attested Photocopies of all relevant documents on the dates specified by the Commission.

Selection Process of SPSC Careers:

- The candidate must obtain the qualifying marks decided by the Commission in the written examination.
- Those candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the scrutiny of documents in the ratio fixed by the Commission.

Scheme of Examination:
The written examination comprises two (2) successive stages.
- Paper-I: General English (MCQ & Conventional) and General Knowledge (MCQ) for 50 marks and 01 hour duration.
- Paper-II: The main paper (MCQ & Conventional) is 150 marks and lasts 1.30 hours.
