Detailed Eligibility โ Indian Navy Agniveer Jobs:
Educational Qualification:
Agniveer (Apprentice) 01/2027, 02/2027 batch:
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from the Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and completed a three-year diploma course from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recognised Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following diploma courses:-
- Engineering โ Marine Engineering & Systems, Mechanical, Production/ Automobile, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Repair and Maintenance, Power Plant Engineering, Industrial/Production, Maintenance, Machine, Manufacturing/ Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Electronics Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
- Electrical โ Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
Training: Training for Agniveer (Apprentice) 01/2027 will tentatively commence in Dec 26 and for Agniveer 02/2027 in May 27 at INS Chilka, Odisha.
Duration of Service: The Agniveers shall be enrolled in the Indian Navy under the Navy Act 1957, for a period of four years. โAgniveers would form a distinct rank, different from any other existing ranks and would be the junior most rank in the Indian Navyโ. Indian Navy is not obliged to retain the Agniveers beyond the engagement period of four years.
Age Limit:
- Agniveer (Apprentice) 01/2027 Batch: Candidate should be born between 01 Dec 2004 โ 31 May 2009 (Both dates inclusive).
- Agniveer (Apprentice) 02/2027 Batch: Candidate should be born between 01 May 2005 โ 31 Oct 2009 (Both dates inclusive)
Note: Candidates born between 01 Dec 2004 โ 31 Oct 2009 are eligible to apply for INET 2/2026. Further, candidates shall be eligible for the Stage II recruitment process of the respective batch as per the age criteria shown above.
Salary details of Indian Navy Vacancy:
- Agniveers shall be given a one-time Seva Nidhi package comprising their monthly contribution along with matching contribution by the Government on completion of their engagement period, as indicated below

Selection Process of Indian Navy Agniveer Jobs:
- Stage-I INET 2/2026 exam will be conducted in Aug 26 with SSC as Exam Partner. Based on the marks obtained in Stage I, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II of Agniveer (Apprentice) 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches separately.
The tentative timeline for recruitment is as follows
STAGE โ I (INET โ INDIAN NAVY ENTRANCE TEST)
- The question paper will be computer-based with a total of 100 questions, each carrying 01 mark
- The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type (multiple-choice)
- The question paper will comprise four sections i.e. English & General Awareness, Science, Mathematics and Diploma (Trade Specific).
- The standard of the question paper will be that of 10th
- The duration of the examination will be one hour
- The candidates are required to pass in all sections as well as in aggregate.
- The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each Section and in aggregate
- Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers given by a candidate.
- There are four options for the answer to every question with only one correct option.
- For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
STAGE โ II (PFT, WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND RECRUITMENT MEDICAL)
Physical Standards: Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Written Exam:
- The stage II written exam will be conducted only for those candidates who qualify the PFT.
- The question paper will comprise 100 questions of 01 mark each
- The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type (multiple choice)
- The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English & General Awareness, Science, Mathematics and Diploma (Trade Specific). Two separate exams will be conducted for Engineering and Electrical streams.
- Duration of examination will be one hour.
Shortlisting:
- The candidates eligible for the Stage II process of Agniveer (Apprentice) 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches (as per age criteria mentioned at Para 3 above) shall be shortlisted for the respective batch, based on the marks obtained in Stage I-INET 2/2026.
- Shortlisting will be carried out state-wise. The cut-off marks for shortlisting for next stage of selection process may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allotted in a statewise manner.
Examination Fee:
- An examination fee of Rs. 550/- plus 18% GST has to be paid by candidate during the Stage I โ INET
Payment Mode:
