NPCIL Careers – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
- BE/B Tech/B Sc (Engineering)/5 year Integrated M Tech with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in one of the 6 engineering disciplines mentioned below from University/Deemed University or Institute recognized by AICTE/UGC. A minimum of 60% marks means the marks as per the ordinances of the respective university.
- Applicants must have a valid GATE-2024/2025/2026 Score in the same engineering discipline as the qualifying degree discipline.
Engineering degrees allowed for each discipline are as follows:
- Mechanical – Mechanical/Production
- Chemical – Chemical/Electro-Chemical Engineering
- Electrical – Electrical/Electrical & Electronics
- Electronics – Electronics /Electrical/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Telecommunication/Electronics & Controls/Electronics & Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics System Engineering
- Instrumentation – Instrumentation/Instrumentation & Controls/Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engg./Electronics & Instrumentation

Selection Process for NPCIL Careers:
- The selection process will be based on GATE Score 2024/2025/2026 & Personal Interview
- Shortlisting of candidates for personal interview for the post of Executive Trainee 2026 will be done in the order of merit drawn on the basis of valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025 and GATE 2026 Scores by applying ratio of 1:12.
- If there are more than 01 candidate with the same cut off mark (while short listing for interview), then all the candidates with the same marks will be shortlisted for interview.
- Candidates obtaining valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025 and GATE 2026 scores shall only be eligible for this recruitment exercise in NPCIL under this advertisement. GATE score of 2023 or of previous GATE examination shall not be entertained.
- Equal weightage will be given to GATE 2024, GATE 2025 and GATE 2026 Scores.
- Intimation of interview date/time/venue will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through Email/SMS.
- Final selection will be done on the basis of performance in the Personal Interview subject to medical fitness.
- No weightage will be given to GATE Score during the final selection.
- The qualifying marks for interview are as follows:
- Unreserved – 70 %
- EWS/SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD – 60 %
- Separate merit list based on interview marks will be prepared for each PwBD category for which vacancies are reserved & PwBDs will be selected in the order of merit from this list.
- Interviews are scheduled tentatively from 8th to 19th June, 2026.
- Candidates appearing for interview will have choice of answering the questions either in Hindi or English.
Application Fee:
- A Non Refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- is chargeable only to Male applicants belonging to General (UR), EWS and OBC categories.
- Female applicants, applicants belonging to SC/ST category, PwBDs, Ex-Servicemen, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and employees of NPCIL are exempted from payment of application fee.
