Educational Qualifications:

Nurse –A:

  • XII Standard and Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery (3 years course)
  • B.Sc.(Nursing); OR
  • Nursing Certificate with 3 years’ experience in Hospital; OR
  • Nursing Assistant Class III & above from the Armed forces

Category-I Stipendiary Trainee/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) – Diploma Holders in Engineering:

  • Diploma with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
  • The diploma in engineering should be three years after SSC (10th)/HSC (12th). OR
  • Two years Diploma through Lateral entry to 2nd year after HSC approved by AICTE with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Should have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC (10th) or at HSC (12th) level examination.

Category-I Stipendiary Trainee/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) –  Science Graduates:

  • B.Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks. B.Sc. shall be with Physics as principal and Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics &  Computer  Science as subsidiary OR with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage.
  • Mathematics at H.S.C. (10+2) level is essential.
  • English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at HSC level examinations is compulsory.
  • Applicants having Mathematics as the principal subject at B.Sc. are not eligible.

Category-II Stipendiary Trainee / (ST/TN) (Fitter/ Electrician/ Instrumentation):

  • SSC (10th) with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate in relevant trade (Fitter/Electrician/Instrumentation).
  • For trades for which the duration of the ITI course is less than Two years, the candidates shall have at least Minimum 1 year relevant working experience after completion of the course.
  • Shall have English as one of the subjects at least at SSC (10th) level examination.
  • One year apprenticeship training after completion of 1 year ITI Course shall be considered as One year experience.
  • Period of internship Training will not be counted as experience.

Category-II Stipendiary Trainee(ST/TN) Operator:

  • HSC (10+2) or ISC in  Science stream (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Shall have English as one of the subjects at least at SSC level examination.

X-Ray Technician (Technician-C):

  • HSC (10+2) with minimum 60% marks in  Science + 1 year Medical Radiography/ X-Ray Technique Trade Certificate with minimum 02 years post qualification work experience in Medical Radiography/ X-Ray.

  • The duration of the examination will be 1.5 Hrs.

  • The Written Examination will be in two stages:-
    • Stage-1- Preliminary Test (1 Hour Duration)

Marking Scheme: 02 (two) marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.5 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Qualifying Standards: 

  • General Category (UR) – 40% marks
  • C/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD/EWS – 30% marks (wherever vacancy exists).

Personal Interview:

  • The shortlisted candidates will undergo Personal Interview only on successful completion of Document Verification after assessment of essential physical standards.
  • Qualifying Standards: General Category (UR) – 40% marks, SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/EWS – 30% marks (wherever vacancy exists).

Merit List:

  • The Merit List will be prepared based on the marks obtained in written examination and Personal Interview.
  • For preparing the Merit List, weightage of 50% will be given to written test and 50% of Personal Interview marks.
  • Candidates with higher marks in written examination will be placed higher on the merit list.
  • Candidates with lower negative marks in written exam will be placed higher on the merit list.
  • Candidates with lower negative marks in written exam will be placed higher on the merit list.

Note:

  • Question paper for written exam will be in bilingual format (Hindi & English).
  • The number of candidates shortlisted for Personal Interview would depend upon the number of candidates qualifying for Personal Interview but will not exceed 5 times the number of vacancies notified in all reserved and unreserved categories for each post. In case adequate numbers of candidates are not available, then only candidates qualified will be interviewed. However, in case of tie, the number of candidates to be interviewed will exceed the limit of 5 times.
  • Exact date, time and venue of the examination will be indicated in the Admit Card.

The selection of candidates will be based on the following:

Written Examination:

The Written Examination for NPCIL jobs for freshers will be in two stages:

  • Stage — 1 – Preliminary Test and
  • Stage – 2 — Advanced Test

Stage – 1 (Preliminary Test):

  • It will be a screening examination to be held to shortlist candidates. The screening examination format shall be common for all non-echnical cadres.
  • In keeping with the minimum educational qualification of Graduation as per the Recruitment Norms, the questions will be of Graduation level.
  • The examination will consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Choice of four answers) in the following proportion:
    • General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 25 Questions
    • Computer Knowledge – 15 Questions
    • English – 10 questions
  • The Test will be 01 (1) hour in duration for a maximum of 150 marks.
  • 03 (Three) marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and 01 (one) mark will be deduced for an incorrect answer.
  • Tests will be conducted in single/multiple sessions depending upon logistics requirements.
  • Qualifying Standards: The qualifying standards shall be as follows:
    • General Category (UR) ~ 40% marks;
    • SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/ EWS /PwBD -30% marks.
  • Accordingly, the General Candidates with less than 40% marks and those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD with less than 30% marks will be screened out for Stage 2.

Stage – 2 (Advanced Test):

  • All the candidates appearing in Stage 1 will undertake Stage 2 (Advanced test).  The test will be of 02 (2) hours duration for a Maximum of 150 marks.
  • The Test will comprise 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Choice of four answers) from the following syllabus:
    • Quantitative Aptitude – 25 questions.
    • Critical Reasoning – 25 questions
  • (Three) marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Qualifying Standards: The qualifying standards shall be as follows:
    • General Category (UR) – 30% marks;
    • SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD – 20% marks.
  • Accordingly, the General Candidates with less than 30% marks and those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD with less than 20% marks will be screened out for Stage 3.
  • A merit list will be prepared for candidates after Stage 2 based on scores obtained in Stage 2 only.

In the event of a tie, the following criteria shall be adopted in sequence for deciding the position in the merit list:

  • Candidates with lower negative marks in Stage 2 will be placed higher on the merit list.
  • Candidates with higher marks in Stage-1 will be placed higher on the merit list.
  • Candidates with lower negative marks in Stage-1 will be placed higher on the merit list
  • Date of Birth of the candidates (candidates with earlier date of birth will be placed higher in the merit list)

Preliminary and Advanced Test Examination:

  • Preliminary and Advanced Test examinations will be conducted in a single day with 30-minute to 120-minute breaks in between as per the requirement. During the break, candidates cannot go outside the examination centre.
  • The Stage-2 examination will be considered for evaluation only if a candidate qualifies in the Stage 1 examination.
  • Based upon the merit list prepared after Stage 2, candidates will be shortlisted for Skill Test. The number of candidates shortlisted for Skill Test would depend upon the number of candidates qualifying in Written Test but will not exceed 5 times of the number of vacancies for each post and category.
  • Suppose the number of candidates qualified in the Written Test is less than 5 times the number of vacancies for each post and category. In that case, all the qualified and eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test.
  • If there are more than 01 candidates with the same cut-off mark while shortlisting for the skill test, then all the candidates with the same mark will be shortlisted for the skill test.

Stage- 3 (Skill Tests):

  • Typewriting Test on Personal Computer (PC) as per procedure at (a) below and
  • Computer Proficiency Test on Personal Computer (PC) as per procedure at below

NPCIL Application Fee:

  • A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100/- is chargeable only to Male applicants from General (UR), EWS and OBC categories.
  • Female applicants, applicants belonging to the SC/ST category, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and NPCIL employees are exempted from application fee payment.
