Northeast Frontier Railway Careers – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualifications:
Sports Quota Posts:
- Levels 5 or 4 (GP – Rs. 2800/2400): Graduate or equivalent examination passed from a recognised university/institution.
- Levels 3 or 2 (GP – Rs. 2000/1900): Passed Class 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination from a Govt. recognised Board/Council/Institution
- Level 1 (GP- Rs. 1800): Passed Class 10th (matriculation) or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Age Limit (As on 01 January 2025): 18 – 25 years
Age Relaxation:
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Age relaxation of 10 years in respective communities subject to production of Disability Certificate in a proper format.
- Ex. Servicemen: The Upper Age limit is relaxable for Ex. Servicemen up to the extent of service rendered in Defense Forces plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months at a stretch service.
- Persons who had ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989: Relaxation up to 05 years.

Selection Process for Northeast Frontier Railway Careers:
- Short-listed eligible candidates will be called for
- Trial of sports performance
- Interview and assessment of sports achievement, educational qualification, etc.
- Trials of the candidates shall be conducted to assess their sports performance and suitability for the Railway/Unit team as well as the Indian Railways team.
- The Trial Committee shall give its recommendation in terms of either FIT or NOT FIT, for consideration for the next stage, by giving marks (maximum 40 marks), as per the criteria given below:
- For game skill, physical fitness & coach’s observations during trials: 40 Marks
- FIT Candidate: Candidate securing 25 marks or more
- NOT FIT Candidate: Candidate securing marks below 25
- After Trial, only the FIT candidates shall be considered for the interview stage by the Recruitment Committee.
- Interviews of the candidates shall invariably be held on the same day, just after trials or at the most, next day of the trials.
- Recruitment Committee is to add the marks given by the Trial Committee to the FIT candidates (i.e., out of 40 Marks), in order to make the final merit list (out of 100 marks).
