NIIRNCD Recruitment 2025: The National Institute for Implementation Research on Non-Communicable Diseases (NIIRNCD) has announced a notification for the Project Research Scientist – II/Project Technical Support – III posts. There are two vacancies available for these posts. Candidates with B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc/M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc/PhD qualifications can apply for this job. Detailed Eligibility – NIIRNCD Career:
Educational Qualification:
Project Title: Development and validation of CRISPR-Cas integrated Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification diagnostic test of the rapid detection of antibiotic – resistant Klebsiella Pneumoniae
Project Research Scientist – II:
Essential:
- Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences / Genetics / Life Sciences with three years post-qualification experience in the relevant subject OR
- Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences / Genetics / Life Sciences with PhD in the relevant subject.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in Klebsiella pneumoniae diagnostics and CRISPR-Cas technology for diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with antimicrobial resistance studies, especially in Klebsiella pneumoniae and other Gram-negative bacteria, and experience in bacterial resistance profiling.
- Knowledge of diagnostic platform development, particularly in relation to point-ofcare testing or low-cost diagnostic systems.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, multiplex PCR, LAMP, gel electrophoresis, sequencing, etc.) and bioinformatics tools for genome sequence analysis and diagnostics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot experimental issues, and project management skills
Project Technical Support – III:
Essential:
- Graduate degree with Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences / Genetics / Life Sciences with 3 years post-qualification experience. OR
- Postgraduate in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences/Genetics/ Life Sciences
Desirable:
- Experience in bacterial culture techniques and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, including working with Klebsiella pneumoniae and other pathogenic bacteria.
- Experience in molecular biology laboratory techniques (e.g., PCR, LAMP, DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis etc.).
- Prior involvement in diagnostic research projects related to infectious diseases and/or antimicrobial resistance
Tenure: Initially for up to one year (extendable as per norms). However, the position is terminus at any point in time
Upper Age Limit (As on 28 July 2025):
- Project Research Scientist – II: Not exceeding 40 years
- Project Technical Support – III: Not exceeding 35 years
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be admissible for SC/ST/OBC candidates and the retrenched government. Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-servicemen etc. in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government / DoPT / ICMR from time to time.
Salary Details:
- Project Research Scientist – II: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA
- Project Technical Support – III: Rs. 28,000/- + HRA

Selection Process of NIIRNCD Careers:
- Only eligible candidates will appear for the walk-in interview/written test.
- In case of more than 30 candidates, a written test may be taken.
- The qualifying marks for the written test will be for SC/ST: 35%, UR/ OBC/EWS: 40%
- The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test/interview subject to qualifying the skill test, wherever applicable.
- The final merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks of written test and interview.
- In case of non-conductance of written test being less than 30 candidates, the merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the interview
- The candidates scoring qualifying marks shall be interviewed as mentioned in the below table if a written test is conducted:
- Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical): Generally, up to the top 8 candidates in the written test
- Project Technical Support – III: Generally, up to the top 8 candidates in the written test
