Detailed Eligibility:
Software Engineer I:
- Bachelor of Science in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience.
- Experience: 1+ year of study in the field of software engineering or equivalent.
Essential Skills
- Ability to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, design and develop systems.
- Team player and individual contributor.
- Ability to accurately identify root cause of technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to change.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs clearly defined software development tasks of low complexity.
- Participates in developing fixes or enhancements in existing applications/systems and/or new applications as specified.
- Understands and uses technical documentation.
- May perform system testing and/or other dutes as assigned.
Job Summary
- The Software Engineer I performs low complexity software development tasks related to both supporting or enhancing existing software applications/systems and creating new software applications/systems; the tasks are performed under constant supervision.
- The Software Engineer I is familiar with basic software development concepts, practices and procedures, able to apply them and learn more complex concepts.
- The tasks performed by the Software Engineer I may be similar to those performed by the Software Engineer II, but are performed with much more direction and assistance from a higher level position.
