Educational Qualification:
- UB SI (Male & Female): Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized University.
- Unarmed Branch Constable/Fireman/Driver Fireman/MPRO Operator/Signal Operator/Fireman Mechanic/Mechanic: candidates should have passed 10+2 (Twelve)
- Armed Branch Constable/Battalion Constable/Driver Constable/Handyman Constable: candidates should have passed IX (Nine)

Physical Measurement Test (PMT):
- Candidates should download the Admit Card and bring it along when appearing for PMT.
- After the Physical Measurement Test, candidates with admit cards will be required to register themselves at the PET registration counters at the recruitment venue for biometric data such as Candidates’ Finger Prints/Photographs for each candidate, which the bio-metric application software will capture.
- The candidate’s biometric profile will be verified before the Physical Efficiency Test.
- Only verified candidates will be allowed for the Physical Efficiency Test (Race).
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male candidates have to complete 5 Km. Within 24 minutes, marks are given in advertisement as per categories.
- Female candidates have to complete 3 Km. Within 19 minutes, marks are given in advertisement as per categories.
Written Examination:
- Only those candidates who have come within the qualifying zone (20 times of the vacancy in the respective category) will be given an Admit Card
- Only those candidates will be allowed to appear at the Written Examination which will be conducted at the time, venue and date to be notified by the Central Recruitment Board.
- For the Written examination in all the posts, a few questions will be set in the regional languages i.e; Khasi and Garo, such questions shall not exceed 5% of the total marks allotted for written examination.
- For UBSI posts: shall comprise of 3 papers comprising of
- General English including Précis Writing, Essay Writing, Drafting and English Grammar (Matriculation standard) of 150 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Basic Science of 50 Marks
- General Knowledge of 100 marks.
- Total = 300 marks to be completed in 3 hours.
- For UB Group: shall comprise of 3 papers comprising of
- English Grammar and Usage
- Arithmetic / Elementary Science and General Knowledge
- Each paper shall carry 100 marks
- Total = 300 marks to be completed in 90 minutes
- For AB Group: shall comprise of one paper only comprising of
- Elementary and Basic Knowledge of English
- Basic Arithmetic and Basic General Awareness
- This paper will be of multiple choice/OMR based
- Total = 150 marks to be completed in 60 minutes.
Medical Examination:
- The Medical Examination will be conducted only in respect of candidates who have been called for the interview for various posts as advertised.
- No fees to be paid by any candidate for medical examination.
- Candidates should be within the medical standards
