Kerala Agricultural University Recruitment 2023: Kerala Agricultural University Recruitment has announced Job vacancies for contractual appointment of Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture). Kerala Agricultural University: The history of agricultural education in Kerala can be traced back to the year 1896 when a scheme was evolved in the erstwhile Travancore State to train a few young men in scientific agriculture at the Demonstration Farm, Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, presently, the Cropping Systems Research Centre under Kerala Agricultural University. Agriculture was introduced as an optional subject in the middle school classes in the State in 1922 when an Agricultural Middle School was started at Aluva, Ernakulam District. The popularity and usefulness of this school led to the starting of similar institutions at Kottarakkara and Konni in 1928 and 1931, respectively.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture):
- An MSc in Horticulture with 55% marks(or an equivalent grade in OGPA/point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- NET conducted by ICAR or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree following the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET.
Desirable: Knowledge of Malayalam language to read and write.
Duration: The appointment will be purely provisional for one year or till the appointment of regular hands, whichever is earlier.
Age Limit(As on 01 January 2023): shall not be over 50 years
Age Relaxation: The age limit is relaxable in the case of SC/ST/OBC and differently abled categories as
prescribed in the KS&SSR 1958 as amended from time to time.
Salary: Rs. 44,100/- per month.
