Detailed Eligibility for IWST Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Library Information Assistant (LIA): Graduate with B.Lib.Sc. (Bachelor of Library Science).
Lower Division Clerk (LDC):
- 12th Class certificate from a recognized board
- A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English OR 30 words per minute in Hindi, on the Computer.
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 10th standard pass certificate from a recognized board/school.
Age Limit (As on 03 January 2025): Not below 18 years OR exceeding 27 years
Age Relaxation:
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates is as per Government of India orders issued from time to time.
- Age relaxation for Government servants in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Government of india from time to time.

Selection Process for IWST Careers:
Library Information Assistant (LIA):
- The selection for the post of Library Information Assistant (LIA) will be made on the basis of a Written Exam.
- The syllabus for the written exam comprises of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ) related to General Awareness, Mental ability & Reasoning, General English (qualifying) and Library Science — 25 marks each.
Lower Division Clerk (LDC):
- The selection for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) will be made based on a Written Exam and a typewriting exam.
- The syllabus for the written exam comprises of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ) questions related to Quantitative Aptitude, General English (qualifying), General Awareness and General Intelligence – 25 marks each.
- The qualified candidates in the written exam will be called for a Typewriting Test in English/Hindi for 100 marks.
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):
- The selection for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) will be made on the basis of a Written Exam.
- The syllabus for the written exam comprises of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ) related to General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Numerical Aptitude and General English (qualifying) – 25 marks each.
- The duration of the written exam will be for 03 hours. Date and Time of written examination, typing skill test will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates separately.
- Each correct answer will carry one mark.
- 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect/wrong answer.
- In case of equal marks/tie-up marks in the written examination, general rules will be followed to finalize the merit list.
Application Fee:
- For ST/SC/PH/PWD Candidates: Rs. 300/- (Processing Fee)
- For Other Candidates: Rs. 800/- [Rs.500/- application fee + 300/- processing fee]
Mode of Payment: Paid through Demand Draft from any nationalized bank drawn in favour of ‘Director, Institute of Wood Science and Technology’ payable at Bengaluru by all the category candidates.
