Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is a frontier Institute of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) that endeavors to provide nutrition; health and energy security for the troops through the development of cold arid agro-znimal technologies in Trans Himalayan region. Detailed Eligibility – DRDO DIHAR Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- MSc /M V.Sc in first division with NET qualification Or
- M.Tech in first division at both Graduate and Post-graduate level
Note: The candidate may be allowed to register for Ph.D during their tenure of fellowship. The candidates will not be considered for Ph.D registration during their tenure of fellowship.
Research Associate (RA):
- Ph.D in Agriculture Extension with atleast one research paper in SCI journal
Notes: Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis may also apply. However, if selected, such candidates shall be awarded the Research Saancisiushis oly nie mart of dears J Srovisianal corfices,
Age Limit (As on 22 April 2024):
- Upper Age Limit: 28 years and 35 years for JRF and RA
Age Relaxation of DRDO DIHAR Careers: Relaxable for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Gol orders.
Stipend:
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): A stipend of Rs. (37,000/- + HRA) per month for an initial period of two years and performance based extension/upgradation as per DRDO guidelines subject to a maximum total period of 5 years.
- Research Associate (RA): A stipend of Rs. (67,000/- + HRA) per month for a maximum period of two years.

Selection Process of DRDO DIHAR Careers:
- The selection process will be based on Walk-in-Interview
- Initially, the candidates shall be screened based on qualifications, etc. Those candidates who are screened shall face the interview on the same day.
