Detailed Eligibility for DPAR Puducherry Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Assistant: Candidates must possess any degree qualifications.
Nativity/Residence:
- Those who are natives of the Union Territory of Puducherry and residents by continuous residence in the U.T. for the last Five years Immediately preceding the date of notification only are eligible to apply for the posts.
- The applicants on selection shall furnish the fresh Nativity/Residence Certificate issued by an Officer of the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar at the time of certificate verification.
Age Limit (As on 24 April 2024): Not exceeding 30 years
Upper Age Relaxations:
- MBC/OBC/ EBC/BCM/BT – 3 years
- SC/ST – 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen – Period of military service plus 3 years
- PwBD – 10 years (in respect of reserved applicants, over and above the admissible relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for MBC/OBC/EBC/BCM/BT).
- In-service applicant – Relaxable for Government servants up to 35 years (40 for SC/ST officials) by the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, provided such Government servants are working for not less than 3 years in the posts which are in the same line or allied cadres and where a relationship can be established that the services rendered by them in the Department will be useful for the efficient discharge of duties in the post for which selection is made.

Selection Process for DPAR Puducherry Careers:
- The selection will be based on pen and paper based examination to be conducted in two tiers i.e Tier-I & Tier-II
- Tier-I exam and Tier-II exam will be held on two different days.
- Tier-I exam will be held first and then the Tier-II exam for those who qualify in Tier-I exam.
- Select/Wait list will be prepared based on the Tier-II exam only.
- 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates eligible for scribe as per Para 8.4.1 and 8.4.3)

- Tier-I & Tier-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions.
- The questions will be set in English only.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer
- Multiple answers will be treated as a wrong answer.
- Tier-II Examination will be conducted for the candidates qualified in the Tier-I Examination.
- The merit list will be prepared based on the performance of candidates in the Tier-II Examination only.
- Final Key will be published along with the results of each Tier of exam.
Minimum qualifying marks: The candidates shall secure minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, & Tier-II as follows:
- UR – 30%
- MBC/EBC/OBC/BCM/EWS – 25%
- SC/ST/PwBD – 20%
Date And Venue Of Examination:
- Tier-I and Tier-II examinations will be held in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
- The exact date, time and venue of the examination will be intimated in due course on the recruitment website & also in leading Newspapers.
