What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fields.
- 0-2 years relevant work experience or relevant personal projects.
- Knowledge in computer programming; C and/or Python preferred.
- Strong analytical, independent problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize strategically.
- Knowledgeable about electric power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Expertise in any of the following areas: electric utility operations, control systems, automation, client/server applications, APIs, web services, network communications, operating systems, algorithms, SQL and other database technologies.
- Familiar using Git for software development or willing to learn.
Your Impact:
- Implement software solutions for customer-specific needs with guidance. Most often this will be a program to interface with another system, or a program which provides a feature not available in our standard software packages.
- Able to assess and understand complex design documents detailing the proposed solution to meet the proposed requirements.
- Able to follow instructions aiming development of software according to design documents with support either from lead custom application engineers or project engineers.
- Participate in code reviews, following the instructions, to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality.
- Document and share knowledge and good practices.
