About IIP – Indian Institute of Petroleum was established in the year 1960, its located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand state, India. IIP is one of the constituent laboratories of CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) dedicated to the R&D (Hydrocarbon) sector. There are above 132 research staff in IIP supported by 208 technical personnel. The objective of the IIP is Evaluation of crudes and petroleum products, the Development of processes for petroleum refining/petrochemicals/petroleum products, Technical services, etc.

Detailed Eligibility :
Educational Qualification:
Technical Assistant(Mechanical/Electronics/EEE/Civil/Chemical Engineering):
- Diploma in Mechanical Engg./Tech./Electronics/EEE/Civil Engg/Chemical Engineering of at least 3 years full-time duration or at least 2 years full-time duration in case of lateral admission with minimum 60% marks and experience of 02 years in the relevant area/field from a recognized Institute/Organisation.
Technical Assistant (Chemical Science/Microbiology/Biotechnology):
- B.Sc. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks having chemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology as one of the subjects and one year experience in relevant discipline from a recognized Institute/Organisation.
Technical Assistant(Science Communication & Dissemination Directorate):
- B.Sc. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks and one-year full time professional qualification i.e. ‘PG Diploma in Journalism and/or Mass Communication’ from a recognized Institute.
Technician:
- SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects, with minimum 55% marks and ITI certificate or national/state trade certificate in Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) or Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant)Chemical Science/Turner/Glass Blowing/Glass Blowing/Plumbing/Carpenter/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning/Welder/Civil Engg(Mason)/Fitter/Diesel Mechanic/Motor Mechanic/Welder/Electronics/Library Assitant/Computer operator and programming Trade. Selection Process of Indian Institute of Petroleum Recruitment 2023 :
- The candidates will be invited for a Trade/Skill test in the relevant area.
- Those who will qualify in the Trade/Skill test will be invited for a competitive OMR/Computer based objective type multiple choice examination, which will consist of three papers viz. Paper-l, II & III. Paper-l will be qualifying in nature.
- The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper-ll & III.
Technical Assistant:
- There will be three papers (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper- III).
- The second paper will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks (to be determined by the Selection Committee) in Paper-I.
- Mode of Examination: OMR-Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
- Medium of Questions: The questions will be set both in English and Hindi except the questions on English Language .
- Standard of exam: Diploma, Graduation level
- Total no. of Questions: 200
- Total Time Allotted: 3 hours
Paper-I: Mental Ability Test
- Time Allotted — 60 minutes
- No.of questions – 50
- Maximum marks – 100 ( 2 marks for each correct answer ).
- There will be no negative marks in this paper.
- Mental Ability Test will be so devised so as to include General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Situational Judgment. etc.
Paper – II (Time Allotted: 30 minutes ):
