SSB Recruitment 2026 – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Constable (Veterinary):
- 10th class pass with Science as main subject from a recognized Board.
- 01 year experience in treatment of different species of animals in an accredited Veterinary Hospital.
Constable (Driver) only for male:
- 10th class pass from a recognized Board.
- Must possess a valid HMV (Heavy Vehicle Driving) License.
Constable (Gardener, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, Water Carrier, Cobbler & Tailor):
- 10th/Matriculation or equivalent. AND any one of the following:
- 2 years work experience in respective trades; OR
- 1 year certificate course from ITI/Vocational Institute with at least 1 year experience; OR
- 2 years Diploma from ITI in the trade.
- Must qualify the trade test.
Constable (Carpenter):
- 10th pass from a recognized Board.
- 2 years experience in trade OR
- 1-year ITI certificate with 1-year experience OR 2-year Diploma in trade from ITI.
- Must qualify the trade test.
Constable (Nursing Orderly):
- 10th pass with Science.
- Must possess First Aid Certificate from St. John Ambulance Association or Red Cross Society.
- 1-year experience in a relevant field.
Age Limit (As on 20 April 2026):
- Constable (Veterinary): 18 to 27 Years
- Constable (Driver) only for male: 18 to 27 Years
- Constable (Gardener, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, Water Carrier, Cobbler & Tailor): 18 to 23 Years

Selection Process of SSB Recruitment 2026:
- The recruitment process will consist of
- Stage – I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Stage – II: Written Examination
- Stage – III: Documentation & Skill Test
Stage – I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted at SSB locations
- Candidates declared qualified in the Physical Standard Test (PST) will have to appear in the written examination
Stage – II: Written Examination:
- For all the posts, CBT will be for 2 (two) hours duration and will be of 100 marks, consisting of 100 multiple choice objective type questions focusing on General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning & General English/General Hindi
- Minimum qualifying marks of the written examination of all posts will be
- 50% for UR, EWS, OBC & Ex-Servicemen
- 45% for SC & ST
- The final merit list will be prepared basis of marks obtained in the written examination only
Stage – III: Documentation & Skill Test:
- After completion of the written examination, a call list of candidates up to 20 times of vacancies will be prepared, to put through the documentation process before appearing in the skill test.
- Documentation will be conducted by a Board of Officers/Officials and secretariat staff, as detailed by SSB, in which all the original documents as claimed by the candidates during filling of online application will be checked properly and duly attested photocopies of the same will be sought from the candidates for placing in their dossiers
- Documentation & Skill test for all posts will be conducted by the Board of Officers, as detailed by FHQ, SSB, based on the Recruitment Rules
- Before the detailed medical examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME) document verification process will be carried out in respect of all shortlisted candidates up to 20 times of the vacanacies in each category as per recruitment rules.
