Naval Dockyard Recruitment:

Naval Dockyard, Mumbai has announced notification for ITI qualified/fresher candidates (Male / Female) in various design trades for enrolment into Apprenticeship training at Dockyard Apprentice School under the Apprentices Act- 1961 read in conjunction with Apprenticeship Rules 1992. The selected candidates for Apprenticeship training will undergo one-year duration training for the Electrician/Electroplater/Fitter/Foundry Man/Mechanic/Instrument Mechanic/Machinist/MMTM/Painter/Pattern maker/Pipe Fitter/Electronics Mechanic/Mechanic Ref.&Ac/Sheet Metal Worker/Shipwright/Tailor/Welder/Mason/I&CTSM posts and two years training for Rigger/Forger&Heat Treater posts. Eligibility Criteria for Naval Dockyard Mumbai Apprentice Recruitment 2024:

Educational Qualification:

One-Year Apprenticeship Training: The candidates should possess ITI(NCVT/SCVT) in the following trades.

Two-Year Apprenticeship Training: The candidates should possess 8th/10thย  in the Non-ITI following trades.

Non-ITI Trades:

  • Rigger
  • Forger & Heat Treater

Age Limit:

  • There shall be no upper age restriction for apprenticeship training as per the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum No. F.Ne: MSDE-14(03)/2021 AP-(PMU) dated 20 Dec 21.
  • The minimum age is 14 years, and for hazardous occupations, it is 18 years, according to The Apprentice Act 1961. Accordingly, candidates born before June 2010 are eligible for non-hazard trades, and candidates born before June 2006 are eligible for hazardous trades.
  • Candidates are to be aware that there is an age limit set in the recruitment rules for the post of Tradesman Skilled in Naval Dockyard, Mumbai

Selection Process for Naval Dockyard Mumbai Apprentice Recruitment 2024:

  • The selection process will be based on written tests and interviews.
  • The following process will be followed regarding selection and corresponding merits for the written exam, interview and final call letter.

Preliminary Merit List:

  • Candidates with valid applications will be placed on a Preliminary Merit List for appearing in the written exam.
  • The Preliminary Merit list would be drawn out of Trade and Category.
  • The process for drawing out the Preliminary Merit list will be as follows
  • Candidates with ITI Trades :
    • For ITI trades, a provisional merit list will be prepared based on their aggregate percentage (%) of marks obtained in ITI in ITI trades.
    • In case of a tie with the same aggregate percentage in ITI, the aggregate percentage (%) in Std. X will be compared.
  • Candidates with Non-ITI trades :
    • For non-ITl trades, a provisional merit list will be prepared based on their aggregate percentage (%) of marks obtained in the 8th (for Rigger trade) and 10th (for Forger and Heat Treater trade), respectively.
  • Note:ย 
    • In the case of a further tie, the candidateโ€™s date of birth will be compared, and the older person will be placed above the others.
    • In case of further ties, (ascending) alphabetical order or the first name, followed by the middle name and the surname of the candidates (starting from the alphabet โ€˜Aโ€™ to โ€˜Zโ€™),ย will be considered for deciding the order of merit.

Written Exam:

  • Shortlisted candidates in the Preliminary Merit List will be issued an E-admit card for appearing in the written examination via e-mail in the ratio up toย  1:20 for every available vacancy in each trade and category.
  • The written examย willย be OMR-basedย and will consist of Multiple choice questions [Generalย Scienceย 35,ย Mathematics ( Numericalย Aptitude ) 35,ย  Generalย Awareness ย (commonย forย allย trades)ย 30].ย 
  • There will be no negative markings for wrong answers. The duration of the written exam will be 2 hours.ย 
  • The question paper will be bilingual in both English & Hindi.
  • The centre for the examination will be held on May 24 in Mumbai.
  • The exact date, time, and venue of the written examination will be initiated for candidates through online call letters sent to their registered e-mail addresses.

Interview:

  • Interviews will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates in the provisional list in Mumbai.
  • The exact date of the interview will be initiated to the selected candidates via e-mail.
  • During the interview, candidates will be verified with the original documents mentioned.
  • The successful candidate in document verification will be tested with technical skills in their respective trade
  • Document required:
    • SSC/Matric Certificate
    • ITI Certificate
    • Aadhar card
    • Caste Certificate(If Applicable)
    • PwD Certificate(If Applicable)
    • Ex-Serviceman Certificate/Armed

  • Oral Test: Successful candidates in document verification will be tested with technical skills in their respective trades.
  • Final MeritList: Finsi Merit List, Trade and Category will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Witen examination and interview based on an assessment by the board
