SEBI Careers โ Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Young Professional (Securities Market Operations):
- Post Graduate qualification (degree / 2-year diploma) in Management (with specialisation in Finance) from a recognised and reputed university/ institution, with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA; OR
- Chartered Accountant 1 (CA) / Company Secretary2 (CS) / Cost Management Accountant 3 (CMA), with minimum 55% aggregate marks in the final level of course; OR
- Successfully completed all 3 levels of Chartered Financial Analyst course from CFA Institute (USA).
- Work Experience:ย At least 1 (one) year of work experience in the financial sector after completion of PG qualification or CA/CS/CMA/CFA.
Young Professional (Law):
- Bachelorsโ Degree in Law from a recognised and reputed university/ institution, with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Work Experience:ย At least 1 year of work experience in corporate / securities laws after completion of the LLB/ LLM. Preference shall be given to candidates with work experience in a financial or investment environment requiring knowledge of market practices and rules, regulations and guidelines governing the securities industry.
Young Professional (Research):
- Post Graduate qualification (degree / 2-year diploma) in Management (with specialisation in Finance) / Economics / Commerce / Financial Economics / Business Economics / Applied Statistics / Econometrics from a recognised and reputed university/ institution, with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. Preference shall be given to Applicants who have completed their PhD in the concerned fields like Economics /ย Commerce/ Econometrics / Finance, preferably with a focus on financial markets.
- Work Experience:ย For Candidates with only Post Graduate qualificationย at least 1 (one) year of research/work experience in areas including but not limited to financial markets, macroeconomic theory, corporate governance,ย corporate finance, Financial institutions and related areas of international finance. This may be supported by published work/working papers/ submission of papers in international or domestic research conferences. For Applicants with a PhD qualification, the requisite work experience is not mandatory.
Young Professional (Information Technology):
- Any one of the following degrees from a recognised and reputed university/ institution with minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA:
- B.E. / B. Tech in Electronics / Electronics and Communication / Computer Science (CS)/ Information Technology (IT); ORย
- MCA / MSc (Information Technology (IT)) / MSc (Computer Science (CS)) / MBA (Systems) / MBA (Analytics) / M. Tech (Computer Science/ IT/ concerned Stream) / MS (Computer Science/IT/concerned Stream) or equivalent degree.
- Work Experience:ย At least 1 (one) year of work experience in the field of software development (programming) or cyber security.
Young Professional (Rajbasha):
- Masterโs Degree in Hindi/ Hindi Translation with English as a subject at the Bachelorโs Degree level; OR
- Masterโs Degree in Sanskrit/ English/ Economics/ Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelorโs Degree level; OR
- Masterโs Degree in both English and Hindi/ Hindi Translation from a recognised University / Institute.
- Work Experience:ย At least 1 (one) year of work experience in the field, including the โknowledge of Hindi Typingโ.

Selection Process for SEBI Careers 2026:
The selection of YPs shall be done through a 3-step process, as detailed below:
- Application Screening: Applications received from the interested eligible candidates shall be subject to screening, and the candidates shall be shortlisted based on the criteria
- Preliminary Interview to be conducted in virtual mode.
- Final Interview to be conducted in virtual mode. Candidates should also be in possession of the requisite ID proofs at the time of the final interview and produce them for verification to SEBI, if so required.
