Project Title: “INDIAN Asymptomatic Gallstones: Natural Course and their Predictors (INDIASTONE STUDY)” funded by ICMR under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, in the Department of Medicine, RIMS, Imphal
Project Research Scientist – I:
- Essential: Master (1 Class) in Microbiology/Life Science/Biotechnology with a minimum of 5 years experience in the research field and a minimum of 1 year experience in hospital-based study, knowing how to handle clinical samples.
- Desirable: Preference will be given to an experienced person with knowledge of molecular biology work, Immunohistochemistry, histology, and blood sampling and who has already worked in hospital-based study and a person with the ability to use a computer (Internet, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS software) for proper maintaining of data collection.
Job Description:
- Assess eligibility for enrollment into the cohort and consent
- Patient recruitment by taking a questionnaire after taking an informed consent
- Taking clinical records of recruited patients
- Follow up for recruited patients
- Blood sample collection, Gallstone and histology sample collection after surgery
- Performing serology tests
- Radiology study
- Characterization of Gallstone and immunohistochemistry study
- Molecular work of collected blood samples
- Maintaining data in a web-based portal
