Diploma Trainee:

Diploma in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering from recognized Technical Board/Institute with not less than 70% marks for General/OBC(NCL) category and pass marks for SC/ST & PwD Category.

Note: Higher qualification of BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline in Engineering from recognized University/Institute with 65% or more shall not be a bar for the respective post.

Junior Officer Trainee (HR):

Two years full time Post Graduate Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/MBA in Human Resource/ Personnel Management & Industrial Relation/ MSW (with specialization in Personnel Management & Industrial Relation) or equivalent from recognized Institute with minimum of 55% marks for GEN/OBC(NCL)/SC & Pass Marks for ST/PwD candidates.

Chemist: Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry (Full Time Course).

  • Diploma Trainee – Selection Test (100% weightage) – Computer Based Test (CBT)/ Written Test
  • Junior Officer Trainee (HR) – Selection Test (100% weightage) & Computer Skill Test (Computer Skill Test will be of qualifying in nature)
  • Chemist: Written Test ( 100% weightage) & Trade Test (Qualifying in nature)

Scheme of Examination:

  • Selection Test shall be of Objective Type (each question shall have four answer options) of two hours duration consisting of two parts –
  • Part-I consists of Technical/ Professional Knowledge Test with questions having specific questions from respective discipline.
  • Part-II consists of Aptitude Test with questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency and interpretation, numerical ability etc.
  • All questions carry equal marks (1 mark). Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of ¼.

The Selection Process based on following criteria:-

For Executive Trainee(Law):

  • For ET (Law), Candidates should appear in CLAT 2018 (applicable for admission in LLM/PG courses) to be eligible for next stages of selection in Powergrid.
  • Qualifying Marks in CLAT for consideration of candidates for next stages of selection process in POWERGRID: UR Vacancy – 40% and Reserved Vacancy – 30%
  • Candidates shall have the option for appearing the Group Discussion / Personal Interview in Hindi or English.

For Executive Trainee(HR):

  • For ET (HR), Candidates should appear in UGC-NET July 2018 examination to be eligible for next stages of selection in Powergrid.
  • NET (June 2018) Paper and Subject Code: Labour Welfare/ Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations/Labour & Social Welfare/ Human Resources Management (55)
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: Secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers (i.e. Paper I and Paper II) taken together (relaxed to at least 35% for candidates belonging to the reserved categories (i.e. SC, ST, OBC (NCL) & PWD)
  • Candidates shortlisted for the Group Discussion and Interview shall be required to bring the documents as mentioned in their interview call letter.
