Power Grid PGCIL Recruitment 2023:ย  POWERGRID has announced notification for Junior Technician Trainee/Officer Trainee posts on a fixed tenure basis. There are 213 vacancies available for this post. Educational Qualification:

Junior Technician Trainee (Electrician):

  • ITI (Electrical) pass in Electrician Trade from a recognized technical board/ Institute.
  • Higher technical qualification like Diploma/B.E./B.Tech etc. with or without ITI, is not allowed either at the time of application or at the time of joining

Service Agreement Bond:ย The selected candidates on training will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs.1,25,000/- for General/ OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates and Rs.62,500/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates for serving the Corporation for a minimum period of three years after completion of training successfully.

Age Limit(As on 12 December 2023): 27 years

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC(NCL) : 3 years
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • PwBD: 10 years over and above category relaxation

Selection Process:ย 

The selection process will comprise of Written Test / Computer Test, Document Verification, Trade Test & Pre-Employment Medical Examination

Computer-Based Test:

  • The question paper shall be of 02 hours duration with objective type with four answer choices for each question
    • Part-I [Technical Knowledge (TKT)] โ€“ 120 Questions and Part-II [Aptitude Test (AT)] โ€“ 50 Questions
    • All questions carry equal marks (1 mark)
    • Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of ยผ
    • TKT shall comprise of questions from ITI โ€“ Electrician Trade and AT shall comprise of General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness
  • Qualifying marks : Unreserved / EWS Vacancies โ€“ Minimum 40% marks in total, Reserved Vacancies โ€“ Minimum 30% marks in total

Trade Testย 

  • Candidates who qualify in Written Test through Computer Based Test will be called for Trade Test in the ratio of 1:5 vacancies for up to 3 vacancies, 15 for 4 vacancies and 1:3 for 5 or more vacancies advertised in any category for this post.
  • The Trade Test will be Qualifying in nature and Qualifying marks in test shall be 40% for Unreserved/ EWS and 30% for reserved category candidates if posts reserved for the respective category in respective Region. Trade Test shall not carry any weightage in final merit

Final merit:



  • Final merit for selection will be decided based on marks secured by the candidates in Written Test through Computer Based Test (100% weightage) subject to qualifying in Trade Test.
  • Candidates who will qualify as per qualifying criteria shall be shortlisted category-wise for empanelment in proportion to the number of vacancies in the respective category.

Educational Qualification:

  • Full-time Three-year LLB or Five five-year integrated Law/LLB courses with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA as per the formula provided by the Institute/ University

Service Agreement Bond:ย The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three years. The amount of the bond is INR 5,00,000/- for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates and INR 2,50,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, plus applicable taxes

Selection Process:

The selection process shall consist of CLAT โ€“ 2024 (for admission to post-graduation) of eligible candidates, Document Verification, Behavioral Assessment, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and pre-employment Medical Examination.



  • CLAT โ€“ 2024: The minimum marks required in CLAT-2024 (for admission to post-graduation) shall be as per the Qualifying Marks set by CLAT Authorities. In the absence of any Qualifying Marks set by CLAT, the following shall be treated as the Minimum Qualifying Marks in CLAT for consideration of candidates for the next stages (UR / EWS Vacancy 40%, Reserved Vacancy 30%)
  • GD & Interview: Qualified candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion and Personalย Interview based on their actual marks in CLAT 2024 for admission to postgraduation
  • The interview will have qualifying marks for different categories. {Unreserved / EWS 40%, OBC (NCL) / SC / ST / PwBD 30}
  • Weightage to Different Parameters: Marks in CLAT 2024 (applicable for admission to Post Graduation) 85%, Group Discussion 3%, Personal Interview 12%
  • Candidates who qualify in the Personal Interview will only be adjudged suitable for empanelment. Therefore, it is again reiterated that candidates will have to qualify in CLAT 2024 and in Personal Interview separately in order to be considered eligible for empanelment
  • The Offer of Appointment shall be issued to the suitable candidates in the order of merit and based on the requirement
