IOCL Recruitment 2024: Indian Oil Corporation Ltd has announced notification for Technician/Trade/Data Entry Operator/Domestic Data Entry Operator for Apprenticeship Training. Detailed Eligibility – IOCL Career:

Educational Qualification:

Technician Apprentice (Mechanical):

  • Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one year duration/10+2) full time Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering from a Govt. recognized institute/ University

Technician Apprentice (Electrical):

  • Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one year duration/10+2) full time Diploma in Electrica/Electrical & Electronical Engineering from a Govt. recognized institute/ University

Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation)

  • Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one year duration/10+2) full time Diploma in any of the following disciplines of Engineering from a Govt. recognized institute/ University:
    • Electronics & Communication Engineering
    • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
    • Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering
    • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
    • Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering

Trade Apprentice (Assistant Human Resource):

  • Full Time bachelor’s degree (Graduation) from a Govt. recognized institute/University.

Trade Apprentice (Accountant):

  • Full Time Bachelors degree (Graduation) in Commerce from a Govt. recognized institute/University

Data Entry Operator(Fresher Apprentices):

  • Minimum 12th pass (but below graduate)

Domestic Data Entry Operator(Skill Certificate Holders):

  • Minimum 12th pass (but below Graduate).
  • Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of Domestic Data Entry Operator for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognised under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognised by the Central Govt.

Note:

  • The qualification prescribed shall be from a recognized University/Institute as a full time, regular course in relevant disciplines with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregate in case of SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the trades reserved for them).
  • Candidates having professional/higher qualification such as Degree in Engincering/MBA & its equivalent/PGDM/MCA/LLB/CA/ICWA/Masters in Social Work/Degree in Journalism etc. and any other Graduate and above professional qualification, shall not be eligible to apply for the above apprentice seats.
  • “Fresher apprentice” means a non-graduate apprentice, who has not undergone any institutional training or skill training, before taking up on-the-job training or practical training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Period of Training of Indian Oil Recruitment: 

  • Technician Apprentice (Elect/Mech/T&1): 12 months
  • Trade Apprentices (Assistant HR/Accountant): 12 months
  • Data Entry Operator and Domestic Data Entry Operator: 12 months

Age Limit ( As on 12 January 2024):

  • Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years

Age Relaxation of IOCL Recruitment:

  • The upper age is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates for the trades reserved for them.
  • The upper age is relaxed by 10 years to PWBD candidates in the specified disabilities only as mentioned above (up to 15 years for SC/ST and up to 13 years for OBC Non-Creamy Layer PwBD Candidates).
  • Others as per Govt. instruction

Stipend: The stipend rate payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended), and Corporation’s guidelines.

Selection Process of Indian Oil Recruitment:

  • The selection process would consist of a Written Test.
  • Written Test shall be of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs’) consisting of 4 options with one correct option. Candidate has to choose the correct option.
  • There shall be 100 questions in the Written Test and Total marks shall be 100.
  • Each correct answer shall carry 1 mark.
  • There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Duration of Written Test shall be of 120 minutes i.e. two hours.
  • Candidates can opt for the Question Paper/Test cither in English or Hindi language.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in Written Test is 40%. The same is relaxed by 5% to SC/ST and PWBD candidates for the trades reserved for them.
  • Obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written test does not confer any right or claim by the candidate for final selection, as the same is related to number of positions, relative performance in
    respective categories.
  • Final selection for engagement of apprentices will be based on Written Test marks as per merit.
  • Trade-wise & State-wise merit list for each Region shall be prepared based on Written Test marks scored by the candidates, which shall be arranged in descending order. Candidates, in the order of merit wil be offered the apprenticeship.

The constitution of the Question paper will be as below -:

  • For Technician Apprentices – From the total 100 objective type questions, about 75 questions shall be from the concerned discipline of Diploma level and about 25 questions on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge etc.
  • For Trade Apprentice (Accountant) – out of total 100 objective type questions, about 75 questions shall be from general accounts/commerce/finance and about 25 questions on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge etc.
  • For Trade Apprentice (Assistant-Human Resource) – all 100 objective type questions shall be on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge/awareness etc.
  • For Data Entry Operator& Domestic Data Entry Operator – all 100 objective type questions shall be on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge/awareness etc. of Class 12 level.

  • 3 years regular full time Diploma in  relevant field with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL& 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates for reserved positions from a recognized Institute/University.

Graduate Apprentice :

  • Full time Graduate in BA/B. Com/B.Sc/BBA with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCLE 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates for reserved positions from a recognized Institute/University.

Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Fresher):

  • Class 12th (but Below graduate)with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWs and OBC-NCL& 45% In case of SC/ST/PWBD candidates for reserved Positions from a recognized Institute/Board.

Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Skilled Certificate Holders) :

Selection Process of Indian Oil Recruitment:

  • The Selection shall be based on marks obtained by the candidate in the Online Test and meeting the notified eligibility criteria
  • The Online Test will be conducted with Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) consisting of four options with one correct option.
  • The candidates will have to qualify successfully through each stage of the selection process i.e.Online Test (Minimum 40%, relaxable by 5% for candidates from SC/ST/PWBD categories against reserved positions), document verification and Pre-engagement medical fitness for being adjudged suitable for engagement.
  • All future communications for Online Test/Document Verification/Offer Letter shall be sent only through email/sms alerts.
