Educational Qualification:
Project: Development of DFT methods in constrained atom/molecule/solid with range-separated functionals: benefits of Hookium
Project Fellow:
- Highly motivated candidates interested in Theoretical Chemistry/physics, with M.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics or Mathematics (minimum 55% marks in M.Sc).
- Candidates should have a strong theoretical background (with knowledge on quantum mechanics/chemistry) and be expected to conduct theoretical development on Density Functional Theory (DFT).
- Additional experience (desirable): Preference will be given to qualified candidates for NET/GATE (or other equivalent examinations). Exposure to Linux and computer programming will also be helpful.
Tenure: Initially for one year, which is extendable to a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory performance and available funds.

Educational Qualification:
Project Associate-I:
- Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. Experience with conducting field sampling activities in coastal ocean biotopes or biodiscovery of microbes such as from the mangroves and GATE qualifications would be welcome.
1. Project: Establishment of Nodal Center for Key Starting materials and intermediates under the Therapeutic Chemicals Program
- Background of the project: The project intends to harness the potential of marine metabolites for potential therapeutics and to undertake targeted biodiscovery of marine microbes, focusing on actinomycetes from biotopes representing the coastal ocean of India. The position will be initially for one year. The position will be extended based on the candidate’s satisfactory performance.
2. Project: Center for Marine Therapeutics (CMT)
- Background of the project: The Centre for Marine Therapeutics (CMT) intends to undertake the biodiscovery of novel microbes from the coastal ocean and harness the potential of these microbes for potential therapeutics. The position will be initially for one year. The position will be extended based on the candidate’s satisfactory performance.
Project Assistant:
- Master’s in Natural Science, including Environmental Science/Ecology/Zoology/Wildlife Biology and Conservation. Proven experience conducting field sampling in freshwater ecosystems and field experience in mapping wildlife biodiversity would be welcome.
Project: Mapping Biodiversity in the Upper Bhima Basin
Background of the project: Freshwater ecosystems in India are pivotal in maintaining biodiversity, offering ecosystem services, and improving overall human health. However, many freshwater ecosystems are reeling from multiple anthropogenic stresses. To aid in the vision of the Prioritisation of freshwater ecosystems of The Nature Conservancy India, a project on mapping the biodiversity of the Upper Bhima Basin is to be undertaken using multifaceted approaches.
