Detailed Eligibility – IISER Bhopal Vacancy:
Education Qualification:
Project Title: Seismic anisotropy and attenuation models of the crust and lithospheric mantle for the Himalayas and Southern Tibet: Investigating Indian Plate dynamics across the Indian-Eurasian collision zone
Junior Research Fellow:
- (M.Sc. (Tech)/ M.Sc. or equivalent) in Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/Geology/Physics or related fields from a recognized university/Institute with a valid score in GATE/CSIR-NET. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks (or 6.5 Grade Point out of 10) (55%/6 CGPA for SC/ST) in their master’s.
Desirable:
- Candidate with working knowledge in the field of crust and upper mantle structure, attenuation characteristics, modelling and Inversion, etc.
- Knowledge of Python/MATLAB/Fortran or any other programming language
Job description: The JRF is expected to work on investigating structure, deformation and attenuation characteristics of the Indo-Eurasia collision zone.
Tenure of Appointment: The appointment will be for one year from the date of his/her joining the Institute
Age Limit (As on 01 September 2024): Should not exceed 35 years
Age Relaxation: Relaxation as per the Government norms.
Salary: : Rs. 37,000/- + 16% HRA per month (Consolidated pay with no other allowances).
